Overview Of The Role:

  • The Security Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of security operations at the Doha Festival City Mall, ensuring the safety of personnel, materials, and information from various threats, including physical assault, fraud, and espionage. The role involves coordination with city management and local authorities to ensure seamless event management, traffic flow, and preventive measures to avoid incidents. Success in this role requires strong leadership, communication skills, and the ability to make emergency decisions independently. The Security Manager will serve as a key liaison between the mall management and external stakeholders, including police, civil defense, and contractors.

What You Will Do:

Security Measures

  • Plan, direct, and oversee the implementation of comprehensive security systems for the protection of individuals and the business.
  • Analyze data of internal operations and plan and direct installation of electronic security systems, including closed circuit surveillance and entry controls.
  • Plan and direct personal security and safety of individuals, families, or group visitors of the mall.
  • Conduct or direct surveillance of suspects and premises to apprehend culprits.
  • Notify service providers of security weaknesses and implement procedures for handling, storing, safekeeping, and destroying classified materials.
  • Report criminal information to authorities and testify in court as necessary.

Event Management

  • Plan and manage traffic, security, parking execution during events in coordination with city management, police, and civil defense.
  • Provide support to the events teams by obtaining necessary information two weeks prior.
  • Chair an all-department briefing one week prior and once again on the day of the event.
  • Be onsite for pre-event briefings and area inspections ensuring all standards are met.
  • Inspect the site after the event to ensure it is restored to its original state.
  • Produce a report for all departments within two working days of the event.

Preventive Measures

  • Confirm monthly security attendance.
  • Ensure mall security strategy and major retailers are aligned at all times.
  • Regular follow-ups on incident preventive actions.
  • Prepare analysis reports on incidents within the mall.
  • Monitor vandalism and conditions resulting in theft, fire, major leaks.
  • Manage the crisis management matrix.
  • Coordinate with civil defense and police for incident management.
  • Capture contractor attendance for monthly billing.
  • Hold regular meetings with anchor tenants to ensure alignment of strategy.
  • Conduct monthly HSE analysis.

Traffic Management

  • Review and upkeep traffic signage.
  • Assist marketing and specialty leasing with traffic management.
  • Conduct safety surveys of roads and parking areas.
  • Manage contractors heavy vehicle access point and staff entry points.
  • Coordinate with government and city traffic management team.
  • Handle traffic accidents in coordination with Doha Police.
  • Manage abandoned vehicles, ensuring they do not violate overnight stays policy.
  • Conduct quarterly surveys of driveways and parking areas to highlight risks.
  • Coordinate with government and city management to ensure smooth traffic flow.
  • Assist the police with any traffic accidents within or around the mall.
  • Prepare traffic strategies for major events and share with stakeholders.

Reporting

  • Prepare routine and ad hoc reports to keep management informed about mall operations.
  • Provide weekly updates to the AGM and summarize into a monthly report.

Required Skills To Be Successful:

  • Leadership skills to oversee security operations effectively.
  • Strong communication skills for coordination with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond swiftly to emergencies.
  • Proficiency in computer applications for report generation and presentation.

What Qualifies You For The Role:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in security management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Formal training in Senior Security Management.
  • Previous experience as a member of the National Security, Police Force, or similar agency.
  • Ability to work independently and make emergent decisions.
  • Familiarity with computer applications and ability to generate reports.
  • Flexibility to work long hours when necessary.
  • Proven ability to work in collaborative and diverse team environments.
