About the role:

This role serves as the technical authority for Passenger Screening Systems, driving system reliability, security, and regulatory compliance across HIA and DIA. It bridges business, suppliers, and project teams to deliver innovative, resilient, and future-ready screening solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the maintenance of the fleet of Passenger Screening System equipment and applications across HIA and DIA.
  • Responsible for working directly with the business to understand operational needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Work as a technical lead to support passenger screening projects and bridge the gap between the supplier and the project management team.
  • Responsible for research on emerging industry trends and technologies in the passenger screening domain and to recommend proposals for their application at MATAR to achieve tangible benefits, improve passenger experience and safeguard company’s information assets and IT infrastructure.
  • Responsible for identifying all the risks related to Passenger Screening System and working out a mitigation plan for the same.
  • Ensure adequate controls related to the passenger screening system are established, deployed and managed in a secure environment.
  • Support the governance of Passenger Screening System architecture across assigned business units, ensuring consistency with specified requirements agreed with both external and internal customers/ suppliers.
  • Review functional and non-functional requirements and make recommendations in-line with established frameworks.
  • Independently evaluate and undertake impact analysis on major solution design options for Passenger Screening System implementations.
  • Responsible for building scalable, resilient and sustainable solutions to address business requirements.
  • Responsible for identifying new regulations (viz. ECAC, TSA, QCAA etc.) and ensuring that the solutions and equipment are aligned with those regulations.

About you:

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in Passenger Screening System (X-Ray, CT Machines, Body Scanners, Explosive Trace Detectors, Bottle Liquid Scanner etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Experience in working directly with multiple screening equipment manufacturers and the evaluation of new technologies.
  • Experience in the implementation and maintenance of the Passenger Screening System in a medium to large airport/ aviation environment.
  • Awareness about the regulatory compliances and certifications in the aviation industry.
