Responsible for managing the shift of NDT Engineers and ensure that all NDT tasks have been performed in accordance with latest approved maintenance data. The role is also responsible for the control of NDT equipment and setting up new capability as per the requirements of newly inducted fleet. Ensures that the team members are abreast of latest standards of EN4179. Perform and certify NDT tasks performed on the aircraft and aircraft parts.
Operational Accountabilities:
- Exercising authorization privileges in relation to the accomplishment of scheduled or unscheduled NDT inspection requirements.
- Ensuring all NDT inspections carried out are in accordance with the relevant manuals and instructions laid out in the latest revisions.
- Managing a shift of NDT Engineers in accordance with the production plan for optimum utilization of available resources and timely completion of tasks.
- Ensuring that shift members are concurrent with latest technology standards by conducting toolbox talks and nominating them for required training.
- Management and control of tooling used in the NDT Workshop by following the laid down company procedures to stay in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Providing assistance to NDT Supervisor in maintaining and updating NDT procedures as per latest regulations of EN4179 by regular review of latest publications.
- Setting up capability for new NDT methods by preparing business cases, soliciting financial approval and arranging to procure required equipment to meet the operational requirements.
- Maintain NDT qualification validity of at least 05 methods and ensure timely renewal of authorization prior to expiry.
- Ensuring the highest standard of workmanship, quality and productivity are achieved within the NDT Workshop.
- In case of any assignment for planning duties, he/she will be responsible for NDT task’s planning to achieve target release and OTD. The staff will work very close to WPCC department and report to NDT Manager.
- In case of any assignment regarding capability duties, staff will be responsible for leading the new capability studies and research among the NDT Team considering all elements of the requirement and will report to Department Manager.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Management.
Qualifications
- High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 5 years of job-related experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 4 years of job-related experience.
- Relevant Vocational, Tertiary or Trade qualification “OR” Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance or higher.
- Holder of minimum 5 level 2 NDT Methods Qualification proven track record in the field of light / heavy / Workshops maintenance environment.
- Holding NDT EN4179 or PCN (Aerospace) Level 2 qualification in minimum 05 of the inspection methods below:
- Dye Penetrant
- Magnetic Particle
- Eddy Current
- Ultrasonic
- Radiography
- Thermography
- Holding valid and current company’s Authorization Certificate for the inspection methods listed above.
- Holding NDT Level 2 qualification in all 06 inspection methods.
