About The Role:

Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Flight Operations – Navigation Services Air Traffic Management team as a Senior Air Traffic Optimization Officer to be based in Doha, Qatar.

As a Senior Air Traffic Optimization Officer, you will be responsible for interpreting complex data to identify trends, develop insights, and propose innovative solutions for operational improvements. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining data models, ensure data quality, and use simulation tools such as Fast Time Simulation (FTS) to evaluate the impact of airspace changes on operations. You will also support decision-making through clear visualizations and reports, ensuring stakeholders have access to reliable data-driven insights.

Specific Responsibilities For The Role Include:

• Develop and maintain complex data models to analyze operational data, identify trends and patterns to provide actionable insights and develop innovative solutions to operational challenges.
• Utilize the Airspace, Ground and FIR fast time simulation models to evaluate airspace design changes and their impact on airline operations.
• Monitor data collection processes and oversee data quality control measures to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of operational data.
• Create detailed visualizations and reports to communicate analysis results effectively with clear interpretations of data to support decision-making processes within the team and for stakeholders.
• Assist in the transition to self-service business intelligence by promoting data and knowledge sharing among Navigation Services teams.
• Stay current with advancements in data science and analytics relevant to air traffic operations.
• Provide technical support and training on the use of data analytics tools and systems.

Qualifications About you

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

• Relevant University or College qualifications with Minimum 5 years of job-related experience.
• ATPL/CPL/Flight Dispatch License/Certification or ATC, ATM qualifications preferred.
• Experience within an ATM environment for either an Air Navigation Services Provider (ANSP) or Airline Flight Operations environment or related organization engaged in ATM activities.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik).
• Experience with advanced data modeling techniques.
• Experience with ATC fast time simulation software (e.g., AirTOP, CAST).
• Sound knowledge of ICAO documentation on Global Air Navigation Plan, Global ATM Concept, and Aviation Systems Block Upgrades (ASBUs).
• Knowledge of ATC procedures and CNS/ATM technology.
• Knowledge of airspace planning and management.
• Presentation skills, with the ability to clearly present project objectives.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent Communication Skills (Verbal & Written English).
