About Role:

The role will provide cargo and baggage transportation and logistic support while operating the light vehicles and other assigned equipment within designated operational teams and deliver services in such matter to maintain high operational standards in line with company polices and respective Customer Airline Standard Ground Handling Agreements and service level agreements.

Accountabilities

• Collect and transport cargo and baggage load to various airside locations, paying additional attention to items that require special handling process (DG / VAL / PER / COU / AVI / Mail) in order to be in line with operational, safety and security procedures and policies.
• To use available system solutions and application with assigned assets (hand held terminals) for cargo and baggage delivery performance time stamp tracking and product location delivery.
• Carrying out safe working practices in order to eliminate incidents, accidents and any service failures of product delivery.
• Arranging necessary GSE and NME equipment required to meet the loading and offloading of cargo and baggage units at airside premises.
• Carrying out pre trip vehicle and NME inspections and report on serviceability of the GSE and NME equipment to highlight if there is any defect observed.
• Removing all unserviceable GSE and damaged NME’s from operations while performing the regular spot checks while on shift.
• Arrange and recycle NME as per the distribution plan and instructions given by reporting line while on shift.
• Distribute and recycle ULDs at defined locations as per the instruction given by reporting line while on shift.
• Transport all special handling products including but not limited to perishable and pharmaceutical goods with due caution and special care.
• Collect and deliver all cargo and baggage units to defined locations as per SOP’s and in line with established SLA’s and KPI’s to avoid any mishandling and damages to the customer’s products.
• Ensure all loads with NME’s are safely secured from the movement.
• Conducting pre driving checks of loads and ensure all towed units are in proper and safe conditions, within the loading height limits to avoid falling during transportation.
• Assist in cargo and baggage loading and unloading, pushing and pulling of ULDs at airside premises
• Drive and operate specific GSE in line with company health and safety and training guidelines.
• Conducting pre charging acceptance and inspections off all electric tractors arriving on the charging base in order to make available for operations once charging program completed.
• Recording the defects found on the tractors and all charging readings in order to submit shift, periodic reports to the senior.
• Make sure all charging tasks of the tractors’ batteries are performed as per the schedule and procedures.
• Make scheduled release of the electric tractor units to the operations and hand over all collected recordings to the reporting line.
• Arrange and distribute water and electrolyte supplies for staff at airside premises using the assigned light vehicles.

• Contract Type: Fixed-term contract – 3 years
• Job Type: Shift-based work. Working hours are 48 hours per week and paid overtime if required

An Ideal candidate should have:

• Basic Literacy and Numeracy skills, English communication skills with Entry level roles – no prior job-related work experience.
• Command of English language.
• Holding or able to obtain valid Airport Vehicle Operation Permit (AVOP)
• Holder of Home Country Light Vehicle License
• Holding or able to obtain Qatari Driving Light License
