Job Summary The Head of EPMO will lead the bank’s enterprise-wide program management function, ensuring successful delivery of strategic IT initiatives and business process transformation projects.

The Head of the EPMO role is pivotal in the bank’s digital and operational transformation agenda.

By ensuring disciplined execution and governance, the Head of EPMO will enable the bank to achieve efficiency, innovation, and competitive advantage in Qatar’s dynamic financial services market.

Key Accountabilities/ Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Partner with Business Leaders/Sponsors and Sr. Technology Leaders, to develop strategic roadmaps; deliver large/complex technology programs, and to ensure that end to end targeted business outcomes of the program are met.
    • Oversee/manage all programs and projects comprising the change portfolio within the specified time frame and budget, Interpret, and translate strategic business requirements into EPMO services and projects.
    • Ensure sound project governance across the project portfolio, including through relevant Steering Committees and within the bank’s overall governance framework.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on program priorities and risks

Program management and Project Execution

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of IT and associated business process change projects including – requirements gathering, solution design, architecture alignment, development, testing, deployment and post-deployment validation
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards

Governance & Reporting

  • Manage preparation and provision of relevant management dashboards, executive reports and presentations to facilitate management decision-making.
  • Manage the administrations of the Operations and Technology Committee, a senior executive committee that oversees formulation and execution of the strategic project portfolio.
  • Embed a culture of proactive, disciplined project management, including early recognition and escalation of project risks and issues, through well designed protocols, and effective coaching of the EPMO team.
  • Ensure that Regulatory recommendations are implemented effectively including the on-going measurement & monitoring thereof.
  • Subject to appropriate challenge, ensure that Internal Audit, Legal, Compliance and Operational Risk recommendations are implemented

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with product teams, business units, IT, risk, compliance, and operations to ensure delivery alignment.
  • Manage vendor relationships and third-party service providers.
  • Drive change management and communication strategies to support adoption.

Team Leadership

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing program management team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop talent pipelines and succession planning for critical roles

Key Competencies

  • Addresses conflicts appropriately and builds production partnerships with business partners, and stakeholders to achieve targeted end to end business results.
  • Financial Services business and technology understanding.
  • Ability to manage a range of project types and complex business initiatives and change programmers
  • Good understanding of performance management frameworks and tools in the delivery of business objectives
  • Ability to juggle different projects/priorities and deliver high quality outcomes under pressure

Qualifications/ Experiences Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent.
  • Certification in Project Management is strongly preferred.

Required Experience

  • Requires extensive leadership and management experience
  • Experience delivering major transformation programs, within a rigorous project management framework, in financial services
