About the job

The Bartender is responsible maintaining a high level of engagement with guests while preparing and serving a variety of cocktails and mockatails, following recipes to meet and exceed expected standards.

  • Provide excellent guest service by guiding guests in selecting beverages and serving it in a timely manner to meet and exceed guest expectation.
  • Keep the bar area presentable by creating signature drinks and highlighting daily specials to enhance guest experience.
  • Guide the junior team in following sequence of service through training and leading by example to maintain consistency in service excellence standards.
  • Ensure legal drinking age of guests comply with requirements for purchase and/or consumption of alcohol based on food & beverage local regulations.
  • Monitor and ensure that compliance documents for FSSC regulations is accurately completed by the team at all times to ensure that sanitation of food premises and equipment is maintained.
  • Record guests feedback and report any complaints to the management team in order to improve guest satisfaction.
  • Make recommendations for new mocktails and cocktails recipes creation to enhance guest experience and maximise sales.
  • Conduct stock control on a monthly / weekly basis by accurately counting, ordering and recording all items to ensure the sufficient supply of products and prevent shortages.
  • Keep detailed records of all wastage and report any discrepancies to management to promote a profitable operation.
  • Ensure that all cash handling procedures are followed by billing the guest correctly to avoid cash variance and ensure proper guest service is delivered.
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • High School Qualification
  • Minimum 1 year of job-related.

  • Operational expertise: Building understanding in restaurant and hospitality operations, including culinary expertise.
  • Service Excellence and guest management: Building understanding in meeting and exceeding guests expectations and improving and maintaining the overall service excellence standards.
  • Commercial & Financial accumens: Fundamental awareness in restaurant financial and commercial fundamentals to maximize revenue and drive financial KPIs.
  • Food Safety & Hygiene Standards: Building understanding in Food Safety Hygiene regulations & protocols in the restaurant and kitchen operations.
  • Adaptability: Building understanding in adjusting behavior, attitude, and approach to suit different contexts, demands, and goals. Flexible, resilient, and open-minded, as well as being able to make changes quickly and effectively without disrupting the operations.
  • Problem Solving: Building understanding in identifying, analyzing to find the best solutions by using critical thinking, logic, creativity and communication.
  • Communication: Expert in communicating effectively with guests and employees and build relationship with internal and external stakeholders. Able to provide clear instructions, provide updates and information and resolve any conflicts that may arise.
  • Attention to details: Competent in every aspect of service delivery and deep understanding of the desires and needs of guests.
  • Teamwork: Competent in working with various team seamlessly to provide the highest possible service to guests.
