About the Role:

This role is responsible for building and managing Application and Systems Integration Architectures for Business Support Systems (BSS) Domain.

Functional Context:

The Technology Unit within Ooredoo is the backbone of the organization providing all technology services which enable Ooredoo to deliver its services to its customers across all technology platforms, 24/7/365. In other words, it’s responsible for the management of all Ooredoo networks,

technology infrastructure/ platforms and processes to achieve fast time-to-market, high operational efficiency, and support product/ service innovation, and ultimately drive the financial

performance of Ooredoo. The department owns the holistic view of current and future technology architecture and executes accordingly, in alignment with OQ technology strategy and Ooredoo Group, and monitors and safeguards the defined architecture in the execution of all technology products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translates Business Requirements and Business Objectives into Architected Solutions.
  • Communicates, manages and governs the Architecture Implementation across the Enterprise with various Business and Technology stakeholders.
  • Works as part of Technology Architecture Team, to understand, complement, influence and steer the proposed business models and solutions to achieve improved business outcomes and operations enhancements by continuously applying Architecture best practices and methodology.
  • Assesses and qualifies demands from various Business Units within ICT business in terms of business outcomes and business benefits expected, improving the alignment of the demands with overall business and technology strategies, roadmap, priorities, capabilities and resources.
  • Probes for and listens to information, influences people, facilitates consensus building, synthesizes and translates ideas into actionable requirements and articulates those ideas to others.
  • Identifies use or purpose, constraints, risks and participate in the discovery and documentation of the customer’s business scenarios that are driving the solution.
  • Analyzes and understands Business and Technology Strategies, Objectives and Requirements and translate them into actionable Information Systems Architectures and Solutions.
  • Builds and Maintains Information Systems Architecture including but not limited to; application and integration architectures, data models, technology architectures, services designs, system behavioral views etc. as required to articulate and elaborate on the information systems architecture.
  • Communicates and presents Architectures and Solutions to business and technology stakeholders at various levels in the organization.
  • Ensures Architecture best practices and methodologies are applied for Architecture work including but not limited to Architecture definition, implementation and governance.
  • Captures, Documents, Analyzes, Classifies and Qualifies Requirements, translates requirements into systems qualities and then into repeatable design strategies and patterns that enable those qualities (e.g. adaptability, scalability, availability, reusability, etc.).
  • Conducts and produces Impact Assessment and Feasibility, Cost/Benefit Analysis, Gap Assessments, Architecture and Solution Options, AS-IS and TO-BE Architecture Blueprints, Transition and Migration Architectures, Charters, Roadmaps and Risk Assessment Reports etc. to support decision-making and solution implementations.
  • Identifies Architecture Building Blocks and outline Impacts, Architectures and Solutions in terms of People, Platforms and Processes.
  • Creates Scope of Work definitions and consolidate Applications and Architectures to streamline, simplify and to seek efficiency and operational optimizations.
  • Builds, Manages, Maintains Architecture Artefacts, Competency and Capability within the Enterprise including but not limited to maintain up-to-date Architecture Repository.
  • Reviews Artefacts and Governs Implementation of Architectures and Solutions, to ensure business and technology objectives are met, architecture best practices are applied and expected outcomes are achieved.
  • Works closely with Senior Management to identify risks and provide mitigation plans as well as with other Architects and Solution Designers to ensure compliance to Best Practices and Principle.
  • Supports Program and Project management to plan and manage solution delivery including but not limited to business and technology stakeholders’ management and risk management.
  • Works closely with project and demand management, technology and business stakeholders to align objectives and expectations, to plan for improvements or enhancements, to identify and mitigate risks and to build workable business models.
  • Determines operational objectives by interacting with users and studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
  • Manages and supports to achieve traceability of requirements across the project lifecycle from initiator to proposed architecture and solution and then further to design, build, test and deploy.
  • Plans, Manages and/or Participates in Tendering processes in the role of Architect, to enable Architecture Building Block and Capability Building, Technology and Solution Selections.
  • Manages and Governs vendors, vendor contracts, vendor solutions and performance as part of Architecture Implementations.
  • Analyzes current business processes, work methods, operations, assets and artefacts, propose improvements and as appropriate manage/monitor implementation to expected conclusion.
  • Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information, trends and related research to support strategy, planning, transformation and architectural enhancements.

Minimum Entry Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Telecom or Computer & Communications or Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Minimum Experience, Essential Knowledge & Skills:

  • 8 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Relevant experience in engineering, IT and telecom in the Telecommunications industry
