Job Purpose:
You will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, drafting and negotiating aircraft, engine and other aviation technical contracts in conjunction with User and Sponsor departments to protect the interests of and meet the business requirements of, Qatar Airways Group. You are also expected to provide accurate and business-oriented legal advice to Qatar Airways and its subsidiaries.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide high quality legal review, analysis, negotiation and drafting of contracts, including service agreements, supplier terms and conditions statements of work, licenses, confidentiality, employment and consultancy agreements.
- Evaluate and action events based on severity of impact on current and future contractual obligations in full coordination with internal and external department stakeholders.
- Direct identification, development and implementation of entire range of contract formation, negotiation and administration policies and processes in accordance with corporate objectives.
- Suggest contract policy and procedure revision and improvement.
- Resolve any disputes which come up and identifying areas for improvement in company’s contracting processes.
- Assist in contract disputes and settlements in liaison with Procurement, Finance and User and other Legal Departments.
- Assist in any legal disputes (including but not limited to customer complaints, employment issues and other criminal/legal issues) in liaison with User and other Legal Departments (as applicable).
- Assist department management/leadership with the development and implementation of an entire range of contract formation, negotiation and administration policies and processes in accordance with corporate objectives.
- Identify potential risks and threats to the projects and propose appropriate mitigation plan to management.
- Contribute to and implement policies, systems, processes, procedures and standards covering all relevant business operational functions so that all operational requirements are fulfilled while complying and delivering a quality service to our internal and external customers.
- Conduct research and provide advice on various areas of law including new developments as required or directed to advise business and Group Legal department management.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the management.
Qualifications About You You Will Possess:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with minimum 6 years of job-related experience.
- Must be qualified as a lawyer in a recognized jurisdiction.
- Must have work experience in a law firm or dedicated legal environment.
- A job-related experience in a similar position.
- Strong legal drafting skills.
- Fluent English speaking and writing skills.
