Your Role And Responsibilities You will be accountable and responsible to lead and manage a team of legal specialists, to review and negotiate major contracts like Commercial including Loyalty & Partnerships, Corporate and other functions across the QR group and provide legal advice on a variety of matters to stakeholders and senior management.
Strategic
- Develop and implement procedures for contract management and administration in compliance with company policy. As appropriate, contribute to or influence company contractual policies.
- Negotiating, drafting and implementing a wide variety of complex, multiparty agreements, including mergers and acquisitions and strategic alliances.
- Coordinating the development and management of strategic contracts in accordance with corporate requirements, supporting legal requirements and procedures to secure and protect the business interests of the company in matters related to contracts.
- Facilitate the development and maintenance of strategic procedures for contracts and procurement.
Operational
- Review, draft, interpret, and negotiate major commercial contracts (including Loyalty & Partnerships and Corporate functions), ensuring risks are identified, evaluated, and mitigated to protect the company’s legal and commercial interests.
- Provide proactive legal advice and support to Qatar Airways divisions, including guidance on contract implementation, liability exposure, compliance obligations, and alignment with QR Compliance policies.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve contract templates and standard terms, ensuring legal compliance, accuracy, and relevance for various Loyalty partnerships and broader business needs.
- Lead the resolution of legal disputes, managing litigation, arbitration, or settlements, while coordinating with external counsel and safeguarding the company’s legal remedies.
- Drive operational excellence by implementing process improvements, supporting cross‑departmental procedures, and training divisions on legal and compliance controls as required.
Management & Leadership
- Manage a team of Legal Specialists.
- Establish the teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
- Regularly evaluate the teams objectives, plans, procedures and practices and make appropriate changes if needed.
Qualifications Job Specific Skills: Essential
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent with minimum 10 years of job related experience.
- Law Degree
- Excellent contract drafting skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Ability to communicate complex legal matters to, take instructions from and deal confidentially with senior management.
- Excellent analytical skills.
Preferred
- Master’s Degree or equivalent.
- Aviation industry experience.
