Job Purpose:
We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Director of Housekeeping to lead and inspire our housekeeping operations across all areas of The Ned Doha. This role is pivotal in driving excellence, ensuring impeccable standards of cleanliness and luxury presentation, and delivering an exceptional guest experience that aligns with the brand’s reputation for world-class hospitality.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the housekeeping department, ensuring smooth operations across guest rooms, public areas, Ned’s Club, restaurants, event spaces, spa, gym, and back-of-house.
- Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and service standards consistent with luxury hospitality and The Ned brand.
- Lead, coach, and inspire a diverse team of supervisors, room attendants, and laundry associates to achieve excellence and foster a culture of pride and accountability.
- Oversee daily operations while monitoring performance metrics, conducting regular inspections, and maintaining consistent quality control.
- Partner with Engineering, Front Office, Food & Beverage, and Events to ensure seamless communication, efficient room readiness, and timely resolution of guest requests.
- Manage all housekeeping budgets, including payroll, operating supplies, and capital expenditures, while maximizing efficiency and cost control without compromising service.
- Implement training and development programs to continuously upskill the team and prepare future leaders.
- Ensure strict compliance with hygiene, safety, and sustainability protocols, with a focus on environmental responsibility and green practices.
- Drive innovation by introducing new technologies, cleaning systems, and sustainable solutions to enhance guest experience and operational efficiency.
- Build strong vendor and supplier relationships to secure best-in-class products and services.
- Act as a key member of the hotel’s leadership team, contributing to long-term strategy, guest satisfaction scores, and overall success of The Ned Doha.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Proven track record as a Director of Housekeeping or senior leadership role in housekeeping within a luxury, lifestyle, or 5-star hospitality environment.
- Exceptional leadership, people management, and motivational skills with the ability to inspire a high-performing multicultural team.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management, forecasting, and cost control.
- Advanced knowledge of housekeeping technology, systems, and hotel operations software.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Deep understanding of health, safety, sanitation, and sustainability standards within hospitality.
- Ability to balance operational excellence with strategic thinking and innovation.
