About the job

As Entertainment Manager (Content Strategy & Curation), IFE, you will be responsible for supporting and contributing to the development and delivery of an engaging in-flight entertainment experience. Working under the guidance of the Head of Entertainment, the role will create the in-flight entertainment strategy and contribute towards maintaining a diverse and appealing content offering. You will support the selection and acquisition of content and supports managing the relationships with content service providers, streaming platforms, production companies, and technology vendors to enrich the entertainment product onboard.

Some Of The Tasks Include The Following:

  • Implement a comprehensive content strategy aligned with Qatar Airways’ brand and target audience demographics. This includes identifying trends, analyzing competitor offerings, and forecasting future content needs.
  • Alongside Entertainment Manager (Content Partnerships) cultivate and maintain relationships with content providers, studios, distributors, and licensing agencies to secure high-quality and diverse entertainment options.
  • Lead in the curation, selection and acquisition of entertainment content, ensuring they meets the standards of quality, diversity, and relevance. Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously refresh and expand the content library.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate content delivery systems seamlessly into the inflight entertainment platform. Leverage technology solutions to enhance the passenger experience and streamline content management processes.
  • Utilize data analytics and passenger feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of content offerings. Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize viewer engagement, satisfaction, and revenue generation.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing agreements, copyright laws, and industry regulations governing the distribution of entertainment content. Stay informed about changes in regulations and proactively address any compliance issues.
  • Responsible for overall selection and programming of entertainment content for inflight viewing, by ensuring a diverse and engaging line up of movies, TV shows, music, games, and other media to cater to the preferences of passengers. Qualifications

About you

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with minimum of 9+ years of entertainment, content partnership, curation and programming experience.
  • Deep understanding of Streaming and OTT trends, including those which relate to Inflight Entertainment Content and the wider Media Industry eco-system.
  • Strong background in Content Acquisition, Partnership, Licensing and Distribution. (Streaming, Broadcast or IFE)
  • Good knowledge of media integration systems and IFE hardware.
  • Financial understanding of content licensing pricing structure and operational costs.
  • Strategic mindset with ability to develop and execute long-term content strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify opportunities and address challenges proactively.
  • Familiarity with digital content delivery systems, inflight entertainment platforms, and related technologies.
  • Understanding of the aviation industry, including trends and the competitive landscape related to inflight entertainment content.
