Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Highway Design Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will play a key technical role in the planning and design of complex road and highway projects, developing horizontal and vertical alignments, junction layouts, and construction details that directly shape critical infrastructure and improve mobility, safety, and connectivity for the communities we serve.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide project design civil engineering services, including preparation of project study reports, project reports, geometric approval drawings, plans, specifications, and estimates.
  • Design horizontal and vertical roadway alignments and super-elevation diagrams in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Perform quantity calculations and prepare project estimates.
  • Develop details for construction, detours, signing, and marking.
  • Coordinate with the project team and interdisciplinary technical personnel to ensure integrated design solutions.
  • Assist senior staff in completing project deliverables and meeting project requirements.
  • Provide support for other engineering activities as required.
  • Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designers/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

  • Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Approximately 3-5 years of relevant experience in the field of highway and roadway design.
  • Hands-on experience using Autodesk Civil 3D, MicroStation, and GEOPAK (or similar) for road and highway design.
  • Thorough working knowledge of AASHTO design guidelines.
  • Roadway and highway design experience on projects in Qatar.
  • Experience in geometric alignment design (horizontal and vertical).
  • MME certified.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal, with experience in composing correspondence related to your responsibilities.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring

  • Roadway & Highway design experience in Qatar projects.
  • Proficiency in the utilization of standard engineering theories and practices and company procedures.
  • Experience with CAE (computer-aided engineering) and CAD (computer-aided design) applications beyond basic drafting.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary design teams and coordinating with CAD/BIM production staff.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently under the guidance of senior engineers.
