Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Wet Utilities Design Engineer to join our team! In this role you contribute towards timely and efficient production of quality designs.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Applies basic principles to design conditions well defined by code with supervision.
  • Fully aware of TSE and Potable Water (PW) design and Pressure network hydraulics.
  • Applies basic engineering principles to analyses.
  • Prepares analytical models with moderately advanced engineering software and researches how engineering principles are applied in the software with supervision.
  • Produces clear and well-organized design calculations.
  • Independently review technical documents to develop understanding of engineering principles used in analyses.
  • Contributes as a productive team member to meet project deadlines.
  • Contributes quantity take-offs to cost estimates.
  • Developing basic detailing sketches for design plans with supervision.
  • Developing proficiency with standard detailing practices.
  • May interface with clients on matters relating to work assignments.
  • May provide technical guidance to Designer.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master Degree or higher preferred) in Civil Engineering.
  • Typically 6+ years experience within role preferred.
  • Fully aware of the use of WaterGEMS, Civil 3D.
  • Ability to work with Infoworks, ArcGIS and Navisworks.
  • Ability to apply a variety of engineering principles, techniques, and analyses within civil engineering discipline.
  • Able to select applicable standard specifications with oversight.
  • Working knowledge of engineering software packages associated with the engineering discipline. Digitally proficient.
  • Understands QA/QC standard practices and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and in writing) on technical and non-technical subjects.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Understands how to read design plans and profiles.
  • Understanding of duration and level of effort for each task.
  • Manages personal schedule for task assignments.
  • Professional registration/certificates may be required.
