Parsons is looking for an experienced Works Inspector (Utility) to join our team! In this role, you will oversee and inspect utility-related construction activities for roads and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of utility works within the project scope.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Conduct daily inspections of utility construction activities, including water supply, sewerage, drainage, electrical, and telecommunications systems, to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of utility works, identifying potential delays or issues and recommending corrective actions to keep the project on track.
  • Inspect materials and workmanship to ensure they meet the required quality standards and project specifications.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all inspections, including daily reports, safety reports, and quality control records.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of utility works and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise on-site.
  • Verify that utility installations are completed in accordance with approved shop drawings, method statements, and project requirements.
  • Assist with testing and commissioning of utility systems to ensure functionality and compliance with project standards.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and promote a culture of safety on-site.
  • Liaise with local authorities and utility providers to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and approvals.
  • Support the preparation of as-built drawings and documentation for utility systems.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in utility inspection for roads and infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of utility construction standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Familiarity with water supply, sewerage, drainage, electrical, and telecommunications systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and method statements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare detailed inspection reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Experience working on large-scale roads and infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with local utility regulations and standards, particularly in the Middle East or GCC region.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar software is an advantage.
