Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Specialist, Master Planning to join our team!  In this role you will get to utilizing your architectural/urban design background to coordinate the master planning and urban design work for major development.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Master Planning Process & concept design

  • Provide input to Development Management in feasibility assessments by developing concept design
  • Responsible for developing detailed project master plan
    • Lay down the guidelines for master plan development in line with company’s strategy
    • Ensure feasibility studies are performed with the required level of detail
    • Propose overall concept design and develop brief for master planning based on in-depth understanding of the market, regulatory environment
    • Review preliminary pricing ranges, financing structures etc.
    • Facilitate coordination with various stakeholders (internal & external) for data/expertise gathering
    • Manage selection and working of external partners such as consultants hired for master planning
    • Perform environmental impact assessment of the proposed project, work to ensure within regulatory requirements
  • Manage and communicate any changes to Master Plan post-approval to Design, and Development Management, Sales & Marketing and Project Delivery on time
    • Assess impact on all Delivery activities, and minimize financial and operational impact
    • Review and approve any critical changes to the master plan and concept design proposed by project delivery during the detailed design phase
    • Ensure smooth transition from concept design into detailed design, by chairing “hand-over” meetings with Project Delivery
  • Develop and improve the master planning process
    • Codify the master planning process that identifies milestones, dependencies and key stakeholders
    • Institutionalize best practices from previous projects and from the industry.
  • Develop concept design of the project.
  • Other duties
  • Provide input to Development Management and Asset Management to optimize real estate portfolio by creating innovative proposals for development that maximizes ROI
  • Ensure planning philosophy promotes business and investment objectives by having full knowledge of company’s strategic goals
  • Stay abreast with latest ideas in real estate planning
  • Provide input for setting up cross-functions SLAs, ensure compliance of the function with SLAs
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor degree in engineering, architecture or design
  • 7+ years of experience in real estate master planning across asset classes
    with large developers (multi asset classes and more than QR -2B in annual
    profits)
    • Strong knowledge of real estate value chain from idea generation to
    construction phase
    • Strong knowledge and exposure to the Qatar/GCC real estate market
    • Strong project management skills
  • Demonstrate high level of proficiency in AutoCAD/ArchiCAD and other relevant graphic software.
  • Excellent level in English language.
  • Excellent skills in consultation, networking and communication.
  • Effective organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Good skills in guidelines and regulation interpretation.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written) required to present masterplans to senior leaders for approval
  • Experienced in collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams that include
    members from Business Planning, Master Planning, Design, Project
    Management, Procurement and Sales & Marketing functions

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Ensures compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements. Writes construction specifications and prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials. Interfaces with suppliers as required.
