About The Role
You will work closely with product managers, designers, and experience strategists to translate complex datasets into meaningful narratives that shape the future of aviation.
As a Senior Data Specialist within the Product Development department at Qatar Airways, you will be responsible for analysing internal data to uncover insights that inform product strategy, operational improvements, and customer experience enhancements. This role is deeply embedded in the business, supporting decision-making through rigorous data exploration, performance analysis, and storytelling.
You will work across multiple data sources to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities that help shape the future of passenger experience, product and service offering and innovations.
As part of your role, your responsibilities will be inclusive of, but not limited to the following:
- Analyse internal datasets related to passenger behaviour, product usage, operational performance, and service delivery.
- Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities that inform product development decisions.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and visualisations that support strategic planning and performance tracking.
- Monitor KPIs across all aspects of the onboard passenger experience from soft to hard product and digital touchpoints and provide regular performance updates and deep dives to support product optimisation.
- Work closely with product and portfolio owners, designers, service and operational teams to translate data into actionable insights.
- Support cross-functional initiatives by providing analytical input during planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Act as a trusted advisor on data-driven decision-making within the Product Development team ensuring complete analysis of internal data to cover insights.
- Prepare clear, compelling presentations and reports for leadership and cross-functional teams and communicate complex findings in accessible language tailored to non-technical audiences.
- Contribute to strategic narratives that guide future product and service enhancements, to help shape the future of passenger experience, product and service offering and innovations.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department
Qualifications
About you
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Business Intelligence, or a related field with minimum 5+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably within aviation, travel, or customer experience domains.
- Strong skills in data wrangling, cleansing, and transformation using tools like Python (Pandas, NumPy) or R.
- Ability to interpret complex datasets and extract actionable insights aligned with product and business goals.
- Solid understanding of descriptive and inferential statistics.
- Experience building predictive models, trend analyses, and correlation studies to support product decisions.
- Familiarity with A/B testing, hypothesis testing, and regression analysis.
- Expertise in creating dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Ability to present data in a clear, compelling format tailored to different stakeholders (e.g., product managers, executives).
- Experience defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) for product usage, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
- Ability to build automated reporting systems and performance scorecards.
