We are seeking an expert Senior Database Administrator to manage and optimize our critical database systems supporting world-class sports facilities and mega-events. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain robust database architectures across a hybrid environment, including on-premises data centers and multi-cloud platforms like Azure and GCP. Your primary focus will be ensuring the highest levels of data integrity, availability, and performance for critical applications, both during large-scale events and daily operations. You will lead capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster recovery strategies. This position requires hands-on expertise in SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Oracle, along with a deep understanding of high availability configurations. You will also be a key contributor to our ITIL-based operational processes, handling incident, problem, and change management to ensure seamless and resilient database services.
🎯 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀:
▸ 8+ years of database administration experience in hybrid environments (on-premises data centers and cloud platforms like Azure/GCP).
▸ Expert-level, hands-on experience with SQL Server administration, including implementing and supporting SQL AlwaysOn and Distributed Availability Groups.
▸ Demonstrated experience in deploying and administering PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Oracle databases.
▸ Proven ability to configure and manage high availability for PaaS database services in both Azure and GCP.
▸ Strong background in Windows Server Administration and Windows Failover Clustering specifically for hosting database services.
▸ Proficiency in Active Directory and DNS configuration as it relates to database security and connectivity.
▸ Experience automating routine tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
▸ In-depth knowledge of database performance tuning, data lifecycle management, backup, and disaster recovery planning.
✨ 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀:
▸ Strong practical understanding of the ITIL framework, particularly in incident, problem, and change management.
▸ Familiarity with virtualization technologies like VMware and hyper-converged infrastructure such as VxRail.
▸ Knowledge of broader infrastructure components including storage, networking, and NSX.
▸ Excellent troubleshooting skills with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
▸ Experience managing databases for high-availability, high-transaction systems in a large-scale event environment.
