About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Marine Scientist with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience to join our Environment Team in Qatar. In this role, you will contribute to our mission of protecting marine environments, with a strong focus on marine biology, ecology, and conservation. You will collaborate with project teams to assess the impact of human activities on marine ecosystems, develop strategies for conservation and management, and provide expert guidance to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field surveys and research to assess marine biodiversity, habitat quality, and ecosystem health.
  • Participate in SCUBA dive surveys where required.
  • Confident and competent working in offshore environments.
  • Collect and analyze water quality samples, plankton samples, and other environmental data.
  • Utilize GIS and other analytical tools to map marine habitats and assess spatial patterns.
  • Prepare technical reports, environmental impact assessments, and regulatory compliance documents.
  • Communicate findings to clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders through presentations and written reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marine Biology, Oceanography, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience of 8-10 years in conducting marine fieldwork, including SCUBA diving and boat-based surveys.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software and GIS applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes related to marine projects is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
