Sales Engineer – Air-Conditioning | DOMASCO (Electronics)


Doha Marketing Services Company W.L.L. (DOMASCO) , an overseas joint venture of the reputable UAE-based Al Futtaim Group, has been operating a business in Qatar for 18 years and has sole distribution rights for Honda, Volvo cars and trucks, reputed brands of watches and electronics such as Raymond Weil, Casio, Sanyo, Aftron and Godrej in the country.

The Role

We are currently looking to recruit experienced A/C Projects Sales Engineers for our Electronics Division.

The primary focus of the role will be to carry out effective sales of airconditioning equipment and to achieve or exceed budgeted sales and gross margins and meet set objectives and targets.

The Main Duties Within The Role Include The Following

  • Sales: To promote sales of airconditioning equipment to meet and achieve sales budget / gross margins.
  • Projects: To quote and manage all project business to increase sales / gross margins / and brand awareness.
  • Customer Satisfaction: To effectively contribute technical advise to assist customers to decide model selection and purchase of units.
  • Site Technical Evaluation: To visit site and assist / advice customers both individuals and institution on site conditions and to assess and prepare competitive quotation to obtain business.
  • Receivables follow-up: To monitor the receivables / data and follow-up for payments to reduce outstanding to company standards or as per contract.
  • New Product Introduction: To effectively introduce new models of airconditioners to consulting engineers and contractors to enable them to incorporate the airconditioning specification in tender documents.
  • Market Information: To constantly collect competitors’ information to enable the Sales Manager to negotiate with Principals for better price and marketing support.Product Approvals: To submit airconditioners and specifications, technical data to the ministry of electricity and water, building engineering department for getting approval certificate to enable participation in government tenders.

The Person

The Ideal Candidate Will Have The Following Experience

  • Possess technical knowledge in the field of A/C and Refrigeration
  • Able to deal effectively, openly and positively
  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Must have good command of the English language. Knowledge of written & oral Arabic will be a definite advantage
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to show initiative
  • Well-groomed and presentable
  • Self-motivated, reliable and confident
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well with others
  • Competent to analyze the market situation and be able to assess customer requirements independently
  • Ability to deal effectively with pressure and stress
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written
  • Possess organization and time management skills with demonstrated ability to follow sales process


Essential to have at least 3-5 years experience in a similar sales position in front end sales

  • Degree/ Diploma in A/C and Refrigeration or Mechanical Engineering is essential
  • Good knowledge of MS Office products
