About The Role

Responsible for developing, leading and managing a manpower planning and roster team for Qatar Airways Doha Hub to ensure optimising resource usage throughout the Operations division and assist in the early identification of skill / manpower shortfalls. Work closely with HR to undertake appropriate resourcing and recruitment exercises in order to acquire people with the relevant skills, knowledge and experience within an acceptable and appropriate time frame.

Key Accountabilities Include

  • Manage and develop a professional, efficient Planning and Resource Management function providing view of the current and future resource needs of the Hub. Analyse operational demands and produce a consolidated rolling resource plan across Hub.
  • Determine budget and create financial plan. Optimize forecast based on cost effectiveness and operational efficiency, focusing on the strategic direction and expected performance levels defined by HUB management.
  • Analyse the short and long-term HUB operational forecast, evaluate trends and patterns related to the resources and utilize the analysis results to produce accurate short and long demand forecasts, which optimize HUB workforce performance.
  • Manage data and work close with other departments or companies within Qatar Airways group to identify workforce shortages and produce solutions to address and minimize.
  • In conjunction with other stakeholders within the HUB, establish the resource aspects for the purpose of manpower budget planning and control for all Hub Operations.
  • Compile excellent operational reports for the Hub Management and Ground Services Head Office in order to plan, forecast and optimally achieve manpower requirements in line with the department strategy.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to employees in relation to administrative matters and employment conditions by consistently implementing enhanced processes to ensure maximum operational and commercial efficiencies.
  • Effective roster implementation and supervision of Days in Lie / Overtime allocation with minimum risk to daily operation for respective shift.
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.


About you

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelor’s level
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
  • Management/Leadership experience with the Airline or Aviation Industry.
  • Management role with significant autonomy
  • Managing a team of people from a multicultural background.
  • Extensive knowledge of rostering/planning tools.
  • Command of English language
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Excellent forecasting skills, strong financial awareness.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Ability to meet required deadlines, result-oriented.
  • Proven ability for solution-oriented, effective communication with internal departments and external stakeholders.
