Working with the Business Group Leader for programme management, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in the following responsibilities:

  • Facilitate all required value engineering workshops within GHD projects
  • Manage and direct all works related to VE studies for all projects within GHD
  • Supervise the implementation of all VE studies and the outcome of these studies, making recommendations and supervising the outcomes.
  • Contribute to a diverse range of projects such as large residential, commercial, educational, medical/hospital and infrastructure developments.
  • Update and Improve VE procedures and guidelines.
  • Influence others through sound negotiating skills.
  • Ability to liaise and coordinate with the other multi-discipline project teams including contractor, subcontractors, and authority liaison.
  • Understanding, identifying, and assessing project risks.
  • Capable of proposing and evaluating alternative design solutions while consideration various criteria such as constructability, capital, maintenance & operational costs in current regional market.
  • Preparing VE reports and presenting its findings competently to the team and clients.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Proven 15 years’ post-graduate experience 5 years of which working in Value Engineering.
  • Qualified MMUP Grade A registered Quantity Surveyor.
  • Middle East experience and a solid understanding of design and construction practices specific to this region is a must.
  • Contribute to a diverse range of projects such as large residential, commercial, educational, medical/hospital and infrastructure developments.
  • Extensive Knowledge and experience with Value Engineering (VE) studies procedures and guidelines.
  • High level understanding of commercial frameworks and drivers of construction contractors, government, semi-government, and private-sector clients
  • Highly developed and open communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Knowledge and understanding of local authority regulations, guidelines, and contracts.
  • Experience in conducting and facilitating Value Engineering workshops
  • Chartered Member of a professional body such as RICS.
  • VMA or CVS certified.
  • In possession of value engineering training approved by – SAVE International (USA) or Canadian Society of Value Analysis (CSVA) or Institute of Value Management (UK).
