A leading client in Qatar is hiring a Projects Engineer.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • To develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with management
  • To determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, assigning personnel and reviewing bids from contractors
  • To determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards
  • To prepare project construction engineering documentation for tenders technical evaluation and projects execution
  • To assist project and planning teams to develop project plans
  • To prepare RFQs for services, materials and equipment, review quotations and propose vendors for Manager – Production approval
  • To coordinate and manage project execution in all project phases (engineering, procurement, fabrication, testing and construction)
  • To mentor project team and develop economical state-of-the-art structural systems, by saving estimated initial costs
  • To ensure project execution is within budgeted hours and schedule
  • To work with multiple discipline projects and monitor fieldwork activities, as well as coordinate with subcontractors on a daily basis
  • To monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
  • To coordinate with estimation team project estimation and project schedule
  • To complete technical studies and support commercial with cost/hours estimates
  • To confirm product performance by designing and conducting tests
  • To maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems
  • To control project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan, scheduling changes, and recommending actions
  • To prepare project status reports and risks analysis by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends; recommend necessary actions
  • To maintain safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations
  • To perform site visits and site surveys to collect data as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Valid Qatar Driving Licence
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar job from leading Oil & Gas contractors
  • Experience from GCC or Europe Preferred
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD and Oracle applications
  • Fluent in English language
  • Industry Experience: Knowledge of heavy steel fabrication, maintenance projects, EPC, pressure vessels additional
  • Strong knowledge of related health, safety, security and environmental regulations
  • Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems, such as ISO 9001
  • Understanding of project management and documentation practices
