Job Description

Position Summary

The Department of Educational Sciences invites applications for a faculty position in Methods of Arabic Studies beginning in spring 2022 ( July 2022). The candidate will be expected to maintain an active research agenda; provide excellent advising; teach a variety of undergraduate courses in Arabic Studies; supervise internship students; provide innovation to instruction; engage in committee service within the School, College, and University; and a strong commitment to a sustained professional profile that contributes to the College, the University, and the community.

Candidates will be considered for the position on the basis of the selection criteria below.

The candidate should address these criteria in the application:

  • Teaching experience in higher education in the field of Teaching Arabic Studies.
  • An active research profile in the area of specialization.
  • Proven ability to work in a collaborative, collegial environment
  • Ability to use ICT for personal and professional purposes.
  • Experience teaching courses in Arabic Studies.
  • A record of achievement that warrants appointment at the rank of a Professor.


  • A Ph.D. in Educational sciences / Methods of Teaching Arabic Studies or cognate area.
  • Minimum of 5 years teaching experience with demonstrated evidence of excellence in teaching.
  • Excellent ICT skills.
  • Academic and professional record including promotions, advancement, publications, and presentations
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to colleagues and different kinds of students.
  • Ability to perform to required deadlines and to initiate, plan, organize and deliver programs of work.


  • A three-year renewable contract.
  • Salary is commensurate with experience.
