Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:
- Managing the full life-cycle from a PMO perspective of the project and ensuring the project is successfully completed from beginning to end including project kick-off, designing, execution and completion, where appropriate, ensuring benefits and objectives of the client are realised and achieved, all whilst ensuring compliance with Mott MacDonald’s internal controls policies
- Controls over project cost and schedule, scope, quality of work and project controls
- Ensure all safety and quality standards are met; review and communication project health and safety plans with the help of the Health and Safety Manager so all project staff (internal and external) are aware of risk; prevent hazards and accidents
- Manage the collection data relating to the progress of critical work including any problems and delays that may affect the work
- Report on the progress of delivery against pre-identified milestones
- Prepare monthly reports in delivery for the client and deliver presentations on progress
- Mentor and develop staff, providing leadership and positive working environment
- Monitor and review compliance with the requirements of the Group’s management system and report findings
- Identifying, building and maintaining key relationships both internally within Mott MacDonald and externally with key clients
- Interacting with the client and acting a single team to oversee the delivery of residential projects.
- Overseeing the PMC and Contractor performance, able to provide valuable insights to client and facilitate in the resolving of issues
- Continuing to improve established PMO processes and procedures
Candidate Specification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited university; a master’s degree in Project and/ or Programme Management would be a distinct advantage
- PMP, PgMP, P3O, AIPMO certifications would be an advantage
- Experience managing PMCs would be an advantage
- Experience in Built Environment residential type programmes of work would be an advantage
- Experience in working in a PMO/Client-side environment would be an advantage
- Member of an internationally recognised professional engineering body
- Membership of an accredited, recognized Project Management Institution would be a distinct advantage
- Must demonstrate experience in respect of the technical proposals, evaluation and constructability, technology deployment and solving technical problems that may arise during construction
- Well organized with strong planning and management skills
- Highly numerate, with strong accuracy and attention to detail
- Proven project management, client liaison and consulting skills
- A strong practical approach to project management with the ability to work in a collaborative and cooperative manner with both the Client and Contractor to ensure that the works are constructed in an efficient and safe manner
