About The Role

As Manager Landside Operations, you will be responsible for helping us achieve this ambition:

  • To lead the landside operations and ensure the smooth running operations as well as providing business solutions for all public transport related aspects of the business included — but not limited to – all airport car parks — long term, short term and staff, Taxi services, water taxi, public bus/metro transportation, car rental.
  • Provides a strategic inputs to the management and uses the best industry practice to determine the strategy to be developed for the transportation and logistics at the airport and supports their development and implementation.
  • Ensures that transportation and parking facilities are in line with MATAR strategic objectives and plans to introduce means of transportation at the airport, by conducting market search/customer service survey to ensure customer satisfaction and introduce any required improvements
  • Working closely with MOTC (Ministry of Transport & Communication) to understand the transportation
  • policy and the areas of implementation/ development in the airport premises, providing a feedback on the projects feasibility being subject matter expert and act on behalf of HIA being the owner of the property, in order to meet the State of Qatar vision
  • To continuously make provision and plans to enhance the Landside Business Module, by working with Expansion team to provide alternative options and traffic management plans within Landside in order to have smooth access to PTC (Passenger Terminal Complex), Bus Pavilion and midfield area.
  • Ensure offering of comprehensive and broad transportation branding service, incl. bus, taxi, limousines, etc. by working together with Marketing & Communicating to update MATAR website and social media on the facilities, rates and all other authorized services.
  • Manages all traffic within the airport premises in the relevant areas, this is done by coordinating with the MATAR stakeholders and Traffic department, reviewing requests for planned activities, and providing a traffic solution in order not impact the logistic flow.
  • Establish the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives
  • Oversee and supervise employees. Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.


About you:

  • Without a Degree: Grade 9- Internal: High School Qualification/ Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 9 years of job-related experience


  • With a Degree: Grade 9 : External & Internal: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 8 years of job-related experience
  • Knowledge of operational process, systems and procedures, training requirements.
  • Must have strong time management and organizational skills (experience in the field of project- management/-work is of advantage).
  • Must be innovative and be able to think strategically out of the box.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of operational working practices and decision mechanisms.
  • Good analytical skills combined with a solution-oriented approach.
  • Managerial skills -Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate is skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
