About The Role

In this interesting role, you will be responsible for monitoring, tracking and reporting the flow and quality of goods into and between the QR and third party warehouses providing additional quality assurance checks to help ensure stock is always delivered to a high-quality standard and is as per proposed specification to the extent possible with the monitoring tools available, ensuring that Qatar Airways receives and uses the standard of goods expected and contracted for.

To achieve success in this role you will need to:

  • Conduct physical inspections of random samples of stock upon delivery to the base warehouse prior to issuing for on-board use including four other warehouse stores where QR Catering Services goods are held across Doha.
  • Propose and gain agreement to the volume of sampling required agreeing the level of checks to be carried out so that a representative sample of items is reviewed. Assists with the purchase of all equipment, ensuring that there are no out of stock situations.
  • Carry out physical checks to monitor product conformity against the Qatar Airways specification documents (as possible given the tools provided) and records and reports any non-compliance / deviation.
  • Track and record all checks in the Catering Services Qosmos system and provides monthly, or more frequent, reporting / analysis of findings relating to supplier performance and conformance to specifications including numerical and graphical representations of data to show performance trends for further management action.
  • Ensure that the product shelf life is correctly mentioned and that it is within the validity period as specified maximizing stock usage for QR.
  • Check the carton packing and inner pack volume conform to the QR specifications to ensure stock is protected as agreed in specifications.
  • Propose packaging and other improvements to the supplier/producers of specifications to further improve product standards for QR in future orders or tenders.

About you

In addition, you will have the following job-specific skills: You shave have relevant College or University qualifications to a minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent in – Inventory Management, Logistics or Supply Chain Management or related.

  • Minimum 4 years relevant experience.
  • Airline Catering equipment management and control.
  • Logistics and supply chain management.
  • Reporting and report writing.
  • Quality Assurance experience.
  • Warehouse management.

  • Command of English language to a high level of both written and conversational ability.
  • Ability to work under own initiative with limited direct supervision.
  • PC Based computer skills.
  • Quality Assurance background.
  • Catering equipment management background.
