About the role

In this interesting role, you will be responsible for facilitating the planning to ensure that all QR Catering Stations of a defined region have the right inventory at the right time balancing the management of delivery timelines with cost and stock availability.

To achieve success in this role you will need to:

  • Be responsible for the global inventory in selected regions overseas, ensuring that all stations have the right inventory at the right time and in the correct quantity.
  • Be responsible for working with the Procurement team and the logistics suppliers to ensure that costs and managed and that inventory is available for the operation as planned.
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day relationships with caterers to ensure stock levels are correctly reported and to coordinate the flow of cabin loads.
  • Be responsible for overseeing the QR inventory at a number of stations to ensure that the caterer is handling the stock correctly and is not misusing it / over-using it in any way – carries out audits to ensure this and manages / monitors corrective action plans to address shortcomings.
  • Coordinate the regional implementation and follow up of the logistics strategy to ensure that inventory is not carried around the world unnecessarily, creating an effective, cost efficient solution that assists with fuel conservation.
  • Follow up on stock control and security of the inventory of the assigned region in order to maintain the right level of inventory stock.
  • Ensure the introduction of new inventory, including the timely withdrawal and disposal of the obsolete stock on a regional level
  • Participate in station’s start-ups and close downs in relation to the inventory and ensures that inventory is available for start-up and is removed promptly from closed stations.
  • Propose packaging and other improvements to the supplier / producers of specifications to further improve product standards for QR in future orders or tenders.

About you

You should have a relevant Bachelor’s level or equivalent in logistics, planning or related.

In addition, you will have the following job-specific skills:

  • Minimum 4 years relevant experience.
  • 4 years Airline Catering Experience working within an Inventory Role.
  • Experience working with inventory within a flight-catering unit.

In addition, you will have the following job-specific skills:

  • Highly Computer literate – Excel, Word. PowerPoint.
  • Stock Control Systems – Oracle/Qosmos.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and multi-task.
  • Fluent in English both written and verbal.
  • Able to work in a multicultural team environment.
