Mentoring Scheme: You’ll be assigned a senior mentor within the business. They’ll have real insight into how best to manage your career, and they’ll be available for advice and guidance at the times you need them most.

Communication, Influencing and Business Partnering: This programme provides you the ability to work effectively across the organisation and will be critical to your future success. This programme will challenge your thinking and really develop your interpersonal style and skills.

Teamwork: Maximising team performance is a skill we’ll be keen to help you develop. Short courses and individual coaching will seek to help you develop your understanding of team dynamics and your impact on others.

Job Rotations: Four six-month placements will provide you with specialist knowledge of our operations with the below business areas.

We have roles available in the following business areas:

  • Global Banking and Markets Global Banking and Markets focuses on building strong partnerships with our clients and using our global network to help them achieve consistent, long-term performance. Our understanding of long-term economic trends and insight into opportunities on an international level enables us to develop product and services for governments, corporates and institutions.
  • Commercial Banking HSBC Commercial Banking operates in around 60 countries and territories, covering the developed and developing markets that matter most to our customers. Through our teams of relationship managers we connect businesses to opportunities, helping them to thrive and grow.
  • Retail Banking and Wealth Management Retail Banking and Wealth Management serves more than 50 million customers worldwide. Our employees help customers to manage their day-to-day finances and save for the future. We offer career opportunities ranging from customer service and relationship management jobs in branches to roles in product development, sales, strategy, asset management and insurance. Generalist, specialist and managerial roles are available at all levels.
  • HSBC Operations, Services and Technology HSBC Operations, Services and Technology (HOST) provides essential operational services, IT and technical support to help the HSBC Group function effectively on a day-to-day basis. HSBC Operations, Services and Technology (HOST) has responsibilities that include: Running customer service operations and business processes from contact centres to payments processing| Developing software and applications that underpin HSBC’s banking systems, Managing IT systems, infrastructure and support, Implementing major strategic change programmes, Procuring goods and services for the Group, Managing HSBC’s global corporate real estate portfolio.
  • Global Functions HSBC’s Global Functions (GF) play a vital role in supporting the bank’s Global Businesses and offer a broad range of career opportunities in areas from legal, risk and finance to human resources, sustainability, marketing and communications. Our operational and functional teams around the world help HSBC’s Global Businesses to operate efficiently and effectively on a day-to-day basis. They also focus on controls and governance to reduce risk and protect the Group’s reputation.


Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of international business and various industry sectors
  • Exposure to and appreciation of working in a global environment
  • Strong ‘team’ skills promoting an environment of co-operation and trust, overcoming resistance where encountered
  • Possess analytical and financial skills
