The Government Relations Officer role is a key liaison position providing communications and administrative services for SC’s employees and SC’s guests for all Government Relations services i.e. work visas, business/visit visas and exit permits.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver administrative assistant in the Government Relations section
  • Follow up with various ministries and government entities in relation to securing Work Visas, Work Permits, Business visas and Exit Permits
  • Issue Exit Permits to eligible SC employees
  • Handle all typing and correspondence such as Work Visas & Permits, Passports and ID cards and obtain the appropriate signature
  • Assist SC employees get acquainted with laws such as Work Visas, Passports & ID renewals
  • Support the process of medical testing and fingerprint registering of new oversee employees and their dependants
  • Maintain documentation, classify and file storage for future reference
  • Coordinate with the team members for embassies locations, maps etc.
  • Carry out other duties such as making photocopies, scanning, filing and operating a fax machine
  • Provide information and assistance to team members and employees
  • Contribute and represent in various ERP meetings relevant to government relations services
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor directly related or relevant to the job
  • Ensure the assigned responsibilities are delivered
  • to a high standard of quality and timeliness
  • in full compliance with the SC Quality Policy and the Safety and Security rules and requirements
  • in line with any standards and objectives designated in the Employee Performance Management system

Experience and skills:

  • Bachelor or Diploma degree in Business Administration or relevant degree
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in an administrative role, preferably in immigration services in a governmental organization
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through
  • Bilingual, strong communication and reading skills in Arabic and English
  • Experience of working in the region and knowledge of local culture will be an added benefit
  • A positive attitude, patience and persistence, especially when dealing with various internal and external stakeholders
