The Finance Manager will oversee the day-to-day finance functions including management and statutory accounts, corporate planning and Business Finance (BF). Manage the process of financial planning & analysis, financial Reporting including consolidation for the group through establishment and implementation of effective guidelines, policies, procedures, and workflows. QFB’s Finance Division partners with business and support team to contribute to the bank’s growth.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with group departments and entities to prepare the key annual targets and budget assumptions for the group. Participate in the strategic planning process.
  • Approve the cash needs for the subsidiaries and departments before processing the payments.
  • Review and consolidate subsidiary, departments and entities budget plans received from the budgeting units.
  • Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of divisions and departments.
  • Monitor financial performance versus the budget monthly to highlight the shortfalls or key drivers of growth.
  • Manage the development of the group financial plan and preparation of forecasts for financial performance.
  • Daily Review of Profit & Loss and taking remedial action. Release of forecast at regular intervals and business snapshots.
  • Supervise the preparation of timely and accurate MIS statements and cash flow analysis.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports to the Bank’s Board of Directors and its related committees.
  • Analyze the impact of the new accounting standards on the Bank’s Plan.
  • Manage taxation matters including evaluating the impact on Banks Plan.
  • Assist the management in regular compliance requirements with lenders.
  • Coordinating with the investment manager, fund administrator and custodian for the Fund’s related planning and MIS aspects.
  • Overview of bank’s SPVs related accounting, auditing and taxation matters through the business teams to evaluate and present impact on Banks performance including Plan.
  • Overviewing the chart of accounts maintenance function & reporting tools in ERP and Temenos Core Banking System -T24, and managing system implementation of new modules and products including system generated reports for various Islamic products
  • Auditing/Review of the Financial statements/other Reports on a periodic basis in coordination with the Banks Auditors. Preparing Analytical Review Statements monthly.
  • Manage bank’s overall financial resources, set up accounting policy & procedures.
  • Lead the analytics agenda towards a modernized finance function. Data, BI, analytics capacity building and maintaining an effective Business Partnership model
  • Review and supplement the financial reporting process to add value to the business.
  • Identify areas to improve upon the profit spread for the bank and work closely with the business on various business proposals.

Requirements

  • 7 years of Banking experience in the core finance area/ Big 4 experience with banking clients.
  • Excellent knowledge of excel and consolidation
  • Chartered Accountant/CPA. AAOIFI qualification/CFA/FRM will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of IFRS/AAOIFI Standards
