Job Description

The opportunity

Project: Government entity charged with supporting and regulating education in Qatar. That includes a full array of K-12 public and private schools and high-quality institutions of higher education. In the 2019/20 academic year, there are more than 332 private schools serving approximately 211,000 students. Private schools offer a wide variety of curricula, philosophies, and activities that meet the needs of individual students and their families. This opportunity is for a bid, so it is not yet a secured role

The Technical Coordinator will be part of an area operations team responsible for a cluster of schools within a geographical area and will be responsible for providing technical engineering input and solutions in the operation and maintenance of MEP assets, building fabric and civil installations, hard and soft landscaping and movable assets and equipment.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Implementing the relevant maintenance management plans and standard operating procedures in conjunction with the FM Manager, and the operational FM team.
  • Supporting the project by coordinating and assisting with annual condition surveys and asset criticality assessments
  • Supporting the transition and takeover process for new schools and facilities
  • Supporting daily operations and providing technical FM support ensuring that the services are managed in accordance with its Service Level Agreement (SLA) and that all relevant KPI’s are consistently met month on month.
  • Authorizing person for the Permit to Work system (PTW), and ensuring that all users fully understand the process and deliverables. To review all method statements and risk assessments received.
  • To review and approve method statements and risk assessments for all technical activities to be undertaken
  • The undertaking of quality checks of completed PPM and reactive works
  • Undertaking continuous improvement activities to eliminate ‘waste’ from the operations and adding value by reviewing, analysing operational problems to improve efficiency and refining both internal MEHE activities and that of the supply chain.
  • Providing technical engineering input into the maintenance of the CAFM system for the service (i.e. workflows etc.)

About You

You are a digitally savvy, Degree in Engineering or its equivalent. You have extensive facility management service delivery via FM service contractors experience. 7 + years overall experience and 3 years in the GCC region on a similar scale. You have experience in the education sector and have proven experience of managing multiple contractors Strong background in quality, health, safety and environmental management systems and regulations. You have a good understanding and knowledge of hard and soft facilities management. You have experience in a wide range of software packages including (MS office, and preferable CMMS, CAFM, PDA).

Ability in speaking d writing in English and Arabic. Highly self-motivated and able to work under own initiative. Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills. Knowing Oracle systems would be beneficial. You can build lasting client relationships and provide support to dynamic, motivated teams.
