Linum Consult’s client is a major international company working within the energy sector. They are currently in the process of expanding and are seeking a Corporate Risk Manager to be based in their office in Qatar.


  • Scanning, guiding, and supporting the overall risk management of the portfolio, and delivering risk profiles that translate into strong, sustainable financial results
  • Defining and identifying those risk factors making up Strategic, Operational, and Tactical risk with the Company Portfolio, together with specific Information Security (IS) requirements
  • Managing all aspects of risk monitoring, risk register reporting, coordinating & controlling processes, and implementing risk treatments corrective actions to secure maximum business contributions and achieving an agreeable portfolio risk profile
  • Guiding and coordinating with HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) Managers and co-leading the development of the HSSE risk treatments
  • Defining, developing, espousing, engaging, and securing agreements on appropriate risk behaviours and attitudes. Devising risk indicators and selecting relevant risk KPIs
  • Assigning duties to provide appropriate levels of coordination, control, and communication of the corporate risk review process. Also providing guidance on knowledge acquisition, training, and applications for the Risk Review processes
  • Engaging with, and linking to internal and external stakeholders to liaise and sustain dialogues to ensure comprehension of risk profiles, and the tolerance for risk agreed for the portfolio
  • Supporting and contributing to all aspects of planning, budgeting, reporting, controlling, and experience & analysis-based optimisation, including recommending actions in response to previously unidentified risks


  • Degree qualified in Risk Engineering, Quantitative Mathematics, Economics, or Business, either with a specialisation in Risk Management and/or professional qualifications
  • At least 10-15 years’ experience, with 7 years in a relevant Risk role, ideally in Process, Power, and infrastructure
  • Excellent abilities in Quantitative Business Intelligence, Risk benchmarking, Business Modelling, and Data Science
  • Strong and detailed Techno/Commercial knowledge and experience of programme risk management techniques in large-scale infrastructure programme delivery
  • Substantial risk management process knowledge embedded in large-scale Corporate processes
  • Good knowledge of Project Finance, project execution, structuring, and pricing of PPAs, Commercial, O&M, warranty management and services contracts, and insurance
  • Previous experience of regulatory tracking, monitoring, and reporting
