About the job

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Research and identify new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products, and services – or new ways of reaching existing markets
  • Think strategically – seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives to develop and improve the business
  • Discuss promotional strategy and activities with the marketing department
  • Attend seminars, conferences, and events when appropriate
  • Contact potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings
  • Plan and oversee new marketing initiatives
  • Develop goals for the development team and business growth and ensure they are met
  • Conduct feasibility studies
  • Develop strategic business plans and present quarterly business reviews to management and vendors.
  • Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans and monthly/quarterly financial analyses.
  • Build business cases, including financial models and the preparation of complete and cohesive strategic presentations to support actions
  • Develop new sales areas and improve sales through various methods
  • Strong understanding of company products or services as well as business position and competition to keep business competitive
  • Write business proposals
  • Draft and review contracts.

Requirements and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering, or management
  • Driving license
  • Proven working experience in international business development
  • Fluency in English & Arabic is a must. Proficiency in French is considered as an advantage
  • Experience in sales, marketing, or related field
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of strategic thinking and planning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including in presentation development, report writing and public speaking
  • 10 years or more experience in the same field and aware of the Qatar market
  • Experience with real estate, lease negotiation and existing network of contacts
  • Innovative self-starter and the ability to negotiate and solve tough problems
  • Excellent time management, organization and presentation skills
  • Proficient in word, excel, outlook, and PowerPoint.
