About the job

Your job as a business development manager is to identify sales leads, pitch goods or services to new clients, negotiate client pricing, forecast sales and revenue and maintain a good working relationship with new contacts.

This role revolves around good communication and so whatever business you work in your duties are likely to include:

  • setting goals and developing plans for business and revenue growth
  • Researching, planning, and implementing new target market initiatives
  • Pursuing leads and moving them through the sales cycle
  • Developing quotes and proposals for prospective clients
  • Setting goals for the business development team and developing strategies to meet those goals
  • Following up new business opportunities and setting up meetings
  • Planning and preparing presentations
  • Communicating new product developments to prospective clients
  • Overseeing the development of marketing literature
  • Attending conferences and industry events
  • Training business development staff
  • Writing reports
  • Providing management with feedback

Essential skills

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Business Development Manager preferably in Qatar
  • Hospitality background
  • Must have worked in the GCC
  • Good business sense and 1 deep understanding of marketing principles
  • Good communication skills and negotiation skills
  • Time management skills
  • A positive attitude


  • Master’s (Preferred)


  • Hospitality: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Management: 5 years (Preferred)
  • Business Development: 5 years (Preferred)
