Job Description

Responsible for concept buying based on market analysis, seasonal analysis and competitor analysis

Complete accurate forecasts evaluating financial components based on current trend, and knowledge of future events which will impact the business

Develop and execute seasonal merchandise plans and pricing strategie

Partner with the planning team on the development of location-wise assortment plans

Initiate quality vendor relationships to support new and ongoing product and services sourcing needs

Review vendor lines, place orders, price merchandise, initiate reorders, supervise merchandise presentation, manage inventories and net margins as per territory guidelines

Ensure accuracy and delivery of orders so that clients for the product group are able to complete projects and meet the Company’s needs

Focusing on new ideas and concepts to promote a category with the principal supplier

Inventory Control – Balancing the dead stock and taking care of buying, so that adequate supply is there for the stores

Working on monthly budgets and planning the number of units to be kept in the store for each category and sub-category

Negotiating prices and issuing purchase orders

Replenishing stocks in anticipation to sales

Ensuring that the prices in the store are competitive compared to the market prices

Coordinating promotions with the Marketing department

Research product, pricing, and merchandise presentation strategies

Work in conjunction with Merchandise Planner to ensure merchandise reaches stores with maximum efficiency, cost-effectiveness and customer satisfaction

Analyzing product samples for every new season

Source qualified vendors to e-Auctions who can meet purchase needs in terms of product quality, quantity and delivery date

Negotiate for products and services within the assigned product category ensuring the lowest possible price

Work with purchasing operations to ensure orderly transition from initial deal to ongoing purchasing of products and services

Partner with Merchandise Planner to manage and control inventory levels, replenishment of wanted merchandise and delivery objectives

Controlling product purchases and cash flow operations

Forecasting turnover and gross profit every month by anticipating the monthly promotions and offers and achieving Gross Profits/Net Profit/Backend Income

Regular follow up with suppliers

Introducing a wide range of accessories

Analyzing and ensuring that there are no aging, slow-moving & dead stocks

Merchandising new product launches and training the staff
