Urgently hiring


To work as part of the MHS Department team, teaching (Art) to all grades of students with varying levels of skills and ability.


Grades 6-1

  • Develop the art programme within the MYP framework and align with specified course standards
  • Satisfy IB MYP requirements in terms of planning, teaching and learning
  • Satisfy the seven ACS teacher appraisal standards
  • Differentiate student needs
  • Collaborate within the department to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment
  • Present exhibitions to share student achievements and to prepare for the G12 exhibition
  • Work collaboratively with the DP/HS art teacher
  • Follow the MYP Coordinator’s aim of including Art as an option for the Grade 10 MYP Assessment Certificate (this will be achieved by preparing a G10 portfolio)
  • Develop the requisite expertise to ensure the above
  • Be prepared to attend internal and external workshops to build competence
  • Develop relationships with the wider art community (for example other MYP schools, partner colleges and universities, national galleries and organisations)
  • Take art beyond the classroom through engaging with and visiting galleries, museums and exhibitions
  • Integrate the art department in relevant whole school events


  • To have at least 3 years experience of teaching across the age and ability range including teaching Art.
  • A proven track record of creating pathways with outside partners that allow the community to engage in Art activities outside of the classroom
  • Educated to bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) minimum – related subjects

Teaching qualification

  • Experience teaching relevant subject to (HS/MS) students essential
  • Strong IT skills preferred, good IT skills essential
  • Experience teaching in an international school preferred (of International Baccalaureate if in High School, AP, MYP , PYP where appropriate)
  • Demonstrates consistently high standards of personal and professional conduct
  • Fluent in English both verbal and written
