Application Coordinator (FIFA World Cup)

The Application Coordinator is responsible for aligning FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 LLC Projects requirements to the FIFA solutions and applications, addressing all the pre-tournament and Tournament needs to the relevant FIFA team and following up all phases until operation at the venues/sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather all business requirements and needs from business units related to the role assigned applications.
  • Analyze, understand and assess all business / Operations requirements, processes and needs.
  • Ensure all IT related needs (from the business point of view) are captured and analyzed, identifying and addressing all gaps of the relevant applications.
  • Determine and identify the best technology solution to fulfill business requirements & needs to achieve their goals and execute their business strategy.
  • Initiate projects, manage MS plans and execute until successful delivery.
  • Fit the application solution into the organization’s Enterprise Architecture.
  • Identify and design the integration points with other system and achieve them in coordination with other application coordinators.
  • Perform the applications data configuration and set up.
  • Perform system integration test & user acceptance test (SIT,UAT) in coordination with the business owner
  • Liaise with business/operations areas and FIFA application teams/suppliers for providing training, Handover, User manuals.
  • Manage the system implementation and go-live, post-go-live review and monitoring.
  • Coordinate with FIFA IT counterpart on the delivery of FIFA Applications for the related area.
  • Assess and evaluate the existent/new systems technical capabilities and features to determine the acceptance percentage and degree of coverage of the requirements.
  • Conduct application needs assessments and plan the delivery of suitable services to all FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 LLC departments according to contractual obligations and agreed level of service.
  • Map overlaps and gaps from IT projects and FIFA application landscape, ensuring alignment between Q22 projects/areas and FIFA application teams.
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to deliver the technology solutions and application/vendor selections.
  • Develop progress, risk and issue management regular report according and keep counterpart aligned.
  • Ensure the implementation of policies, standards and procedures established by FIFA.
  • Liaising & communicating with all the parties to implement the functional requirements.
  • Responsible for Quality assurance of the solutions.
  • Support, troubleshooting, problem solving and root cause analysis of issues.
  • Ensure that your IT application-related services are being tracked in the ITSM and supported as per SLAs, as part of the IT support model.
  • Responsible for the Release management with the FIFA application teams and suppliers.
  • Ensure positive attitude and good relationship with all the parties and stakeholders.
  • Any other duties that may be required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree or similar higher education, in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science or related field
  • Strong IT skills and knowledge, especially in Applications, EA and Cyber Security
  • Technology certifications such as PMP, service management certifications, e.g. Agile, ITIL Foundation
  • A minimum experience of 6-8 years in Information Technology.
  • Experience in Project Management is a must
  • Experience in the provision of technology services for major events thru all SDLC phases
  • Experience in sports systems configuration, Set up, Testing, Training
  • Experience in EA and system integration is a must
  • Experience working on the gap analysis based on AS-IS, To-Be processes and proposed changes for process improvements
  • Experience in business analysis and converting Business Process Modelling into solutions to be developed
  • Experience in systems analysis and solution architecture
  • Experience in Version Control, Release management
  • Experience in the change management process
  • Experience in management of suppliers, vendor selections
  • Experience in troubleshooting, follow up and solving issues
  • Experience and knowledge in sport events products is a must (For ex. Logistics, Workforce, Accommodation, Accreditation, Ticketing, Hospitality, Assets Managements, Spectators, Team services, etc)
  • Good communication skills
  • Good analytical skills and problem-solving skills
  • Fluency in English is essential. Fluency in Arabic is an asset.
