Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Flight Operations team as a Flight Operations Technical Support Manager to be based in Doha, Qatar.

As a Flight Operations Technical Support Manager, you will be responsible for providing technical and logistic support services for projects and driving process improvement to deliver efficiencies, change, and continuous improvement to reduce workload and increase productivity across the sections, through deployment of innovative solutions. You will also be responsible to manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of technical support services, through continuous improvement in coordination and communication between support services and business functions.

Specific Responsibilities For The Role Include

Create/develop tools, processes, and procedures to support the growth and demand of the section, introduce new ways of working to improve efficiency within the section. Manage all ‘Business Support’ activities, working with a high level of autonomy and coordinating activities across all required Flight Operations Division sections/departments.

  • Improve the operational systems, processes and policies, support efficient management reporting, information flow, business process and organizational planning.
  • Maintain contractual records and documentation such as receipt and control of all contract correspondence and ensure contract close-out, extension or renewal.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key departments/divisions to effectively and efficiently establish and implement budget standards/targets, cost control measures, cost avoidance and budget/cost performance management, to support efficient operations.
  • Verify and process all departmental expenditure invoices and requests in compliance with the signed contracts ensuring its agreement with the budget targets.
  • Assist in the development of the Navigation Services department budget, monitor continuously the actual expenditure vs the budgeted, verify all reported exceedances and correct errors where applicable.


The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

Relevant College or University qualifications to min Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 3 years of job-related experience.

  • Experience of demonstrating accountability in managing effective working relationships.
  • Experience in Analysis, Planning and Project management.
  • Excellent Budgeting and Cost Control Management skills.
  • Advanced level of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio) and Microsoft Project skills.
  • Excellent English communication (written and spoken) and facilitation/presentation skills.
