Role Objective:

The Senior Auditor will perform internal audit assignments of the Risk Management, Wholesale Banking & IBG functions, ensuring independent assessment of internal control environment within the business and operational facets, in line with the annual Internal Audit Plan and international standards/regulatory mandates. The jobholder will support in developing audit scope, gather and analyze relevant information, perform test procedures, and prepare audit work papers / audit reports and recommendations and ensure timely resolution of observations.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics and/ or related discipline from a recognized university.
  • 10-15 years of total experience in financial services/banking industry, entailing responsibilities pertaining to the specific area of discipline
  • Experience in risk and wholesale credit audit, with strong understanding of internal controls methodology and frameworks
  • Professional certification such as CISA/ CIA / CMA / ACCA is preferable

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and contribute to audit programs for Risk Management, Wholesale Banking & IBG.
  • Assess cross-functional activities, focusing on Credit Risk and corporate business impact on control environment.
  • Collect and analyze data, conduct interviews to understand control environment and processes.
  • Perform internal audits on operational risk, compliance, governance, and effectiveness.
  • Review internal control procedures, assess adequacy, accuracy, and reliability of reports.
  • Support implementation and effectiveness of risk management procedures.
  • Examine internal controls related to credit review, documentation, and monitoring.
  • Analyze new procedures/projects for built-in internal control and risk minimization.
  • Prepare audit findings, working papers, and recommendations documentation.
  • Submit draft findings to Section Head, follow up on issue resolution.
  • Attend project-related meetings, contribute to audit approach development.
  • Conduct special investigations as directed by management.
  • Adhere to audit plans, provide timely progress reports to Section/Department Head.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities within the section.
  • Assist external auditors and regulatory authorities as assigned.
  • Prepare periodic/ad-hoc reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
  • Contribute to the development of documents and reference materials.
  • Maintain confidentiality, professional conduct, ethics, and integrity.
  • Allocate work, support employees, provide feedback, assess performance, and conduct training/coaching as needed.
