About the role

As an Editorial Lead, you’ll play a leading role in shaping the daily news agenda at Doha News. You’ll lead a team of full-time and contract writers and content creators to produce high-quality, informative, and impactful content across all Doha News platforms. You’ll work closely with the Social Media Lead to further the Doha News brand, engage audiences and develop and pursue DN’s vision, and ensure that it is always the number one English language news and information site in Qatar.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will be looking like this

Lead Editorial meetings with Doha News writers, content creators and editorial staff.

Set daily and weekly editorial agenda for Doha News.

Oversee all copy and content across the site and SM platforms

Edit and sometimes write content for the site and Social Media platforms.

Ensure that the site is always up to date

Work with the creative team to ensure editorial content is presented most professionally and engagingly.

Possess at least 5 years of professional writing experience at a news organization

A strong portfolio highlighting a wide range of work that you’re proud of

A track record of leadership, strategic thinking, creativity, content strategy, and editorial prowess
