How a Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Technician Will Make an Impact:
- Performs installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications systems.
- Verifies services by testing circuits/equipment/alarms & identifying, correcting, or escalating problems.
- Leverages LMR shop operations & management experience from a large-scale LMR shop.
- Responds to emergency calls in the event of a system failure.
- Installs, removes, maintains, modifies, troubleshoots, & repairs telecommunication equipment, including running/pulling, terminating, and splicing cables; installing routers, switches, multiplexors, cable trays.
- Applies hands-on experience in maintenance/troubleshooting of Motorola & other LMR Equipment.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Education: High School Diploma/GED
- Required Experience: 1+ years of related experience
- Required Technical Skills: Must be qualified to install LMR base stations, repeaters, and mobile radios.
- Security Clearance Level: SECRET

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Communications consoles
- Repeaters
- XTS-5000 and other hand-held radios
- Trunked and non-trunked LMR systems
- Key loaders, antennas, multi-couplers, duplexers
- Test equipment (service monitors/system analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, frequency counters, power meters, spectrum analyzer)
- Digital recording equipment
- OTAR keying equipment (Key management facility)
- Site controllers
- Location: On Customer Site
- US Citizenship Required – Clearance
Work Requirements:
- Years of Experience: 1+ years of related experience (may vary based on technical training, certification(s), or degree).
- Certification: [Specify any required certifications].
- Travel Required: Less than 10%.
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship Required.
