About the job
The Website Specialist is responsible for day-to-day operation and management of the COMPANY intranet, as well as managing updates to the COMPANY website.
This person is responsible for maintaining standards in visual design, site navigation and in ensuring site content is regularly reviewed and updated through strong governance processes.
They are also responsible for coordinating key stakeholders, engaging and training content publishers, developing and growing the sites, and managing the relationship with the platform suppliers.
In addition, they lead on measurement and reporting metrics for all online communications activity.
Your Tasks
Intranet
- Maintain an organized site navigation, permissions and metadata
- Overseeing day-to-day operations and management maintaining quality control
- Ensure a fresh and dynamic homepage to maintain a user-focused balance of content and tools
- Identify opportunities to deliver new tools through the intranet and for new and additional content
- Monitor and moderate user-generated content for appropriateness.
- Monitor site analytics and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Ensure proper coordination between IS and intranet software vendor
- Liaise with the IS Department and software vendors on technical questions of implementation and upgrades
- Develop, implement and monitor policies and standards to ensure an effective governance process
- Work closely with department leads and Communications Partners to ensure existing content is accurate and relevant.
- Communicate actively with all content creator and user groups
- Provide introductions and training to users of all different levels (including daily users, content owners, news authors)
- Conduct research to understand intranet user needs and help to define priorities for requests for new content functionality and tools on the intranet.
- Maintain a good understanding of industry best practice and new technological opportunities that can add value to COMPANY
- Suggest new approaches to improve content and help drive better engagement.
- Champion the strategic use of the intranet as the COMPANY single source of truth for employees.
- Deliver work to the highest quality, and within the agreed budget and timescale Website
- Maintain an organized site, ensuring a fresh and dynamic homepage to maintain a user focused balance of content and tools
- Ensure proper coordination between IS and website provider
- Develop, implement and monitor policies and standards to ensure an effective governance process for updating website content
- Work closely with department leads and Communications Partners to ensure existing content is accurate and relevant.
- Maintain a good understanding of industry best practice and new technological opportunities that can add value to COMPANY, including benchmarking across the sector
- Suggest new approaches to improve content and help drive better engagement Social
- Monitoring and analytics
- Serves as secondary support for posting on social media channels: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube
- Serves as the primary support for LinkedIn.
- Serves as technical support for social media mobile Digital Business Solutions Liaison
- Events – be the focal point for all PRC technical requirements from the COMPANY DBS team
- DBS – be the focal point for all PRC technical data and digital solutions working with the COMPANY DBS team
- eServices – drive moves to automate and digitize processes across the PRC team SMS
- Maintain the database
- Formatting and distributing the SMS’s Measurement and Reporting
- Monitor site analytics and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Provide monthly analytics reports to key stakeholders on both intranet and website activity, including the response to key stories and notifications and alerts Procurement
- Main focal point for creation of PR for PRC dept.
- Liaises with C&P department as needed
Your Profile
- Bachelors’ degree in a relevant field
- 5 years’ experience implementing or managing websites or intranets
- Experience presenting analytics in a format that non-technical personnel’s can understand
- Demonstratable background in social media support both technical and end user/browser aspects
- Strong understanding of the principles of Usability and User Experience
- Strong understanding of the principles of Information Architecture design for intranets
- High level of comfort with social software and other web-based technologies
- Keen interest in technology-driven innovation
- Excellent organizational and project management experience
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Basic understanding of the components of common web technology (HTML, CSS, Javascript) (preferred)
- Experience in design/web design (preferred)
