Role Summary
The incumbent will be responsible for providing the technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after the Fitout works at QNB premises. Supervise and schedule of timely power testing (including routine, scheduled and emergency maintenance) for the entire Group’s premises power systems. Designs power system facilities and equipment and coordinates construction, operation, and maintenance of electric power generating, receiving, and distribution stations, transmission lines, and distribution systems and equipment: Designs and plans layout of generating plants, transmission and distribution lines, and receiving and distribution stations.
Role Description
Prepare the budget requirements for the Power Backup Unit.
Monitor and control the expenses within the budget.
Implements KPI’s and best practices for
Promote cost consciousness and efficiency and enhance productivity, to minimise cost, avoid waste, and optimise benefits for the bank.
Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent and delegate authority to the respective staff and monitor the exercise of the same.
Demonstrate a clear understanding of the important factors behind the bank’s financial & non-financial performance.
Manage the provision of power and electrical services to all QNB departments, as and when required.
Coordinate and manage the relationship with external electrical companies & vendors (if any).
Assist customers in all their queries on Bank’s products and seek solutions to their requests.
Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments/units to achieve improvements in turn-around time.
Build and maintain strong/effective relationships with related departments/units to achieve the Group’s objectives.
Provide timely/accurate data to external/internal Auditors, Compliance, Financial Control and Risk when required.
Supervise routine, scheduled and emergency electrical systems which are necessary for efficient QNB operations.
Assemble electrical and electronic systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments.
Supervise the Installation and maintenance of the electrical control systems and solid state equipment.
Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate the performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions, and record results.
Collaborate with electrical engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental problems.
Build, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical instruments or testing equipment.
Analyze and interpret test information to resolve design-related problems.
Write commissioning procedures for electrical installations.
Evaluate engineering proposals, shop drawings and design comments for sound electrical engineering practice and conformance with established safety and design criteria, and recommend approval or disapproval.
Draw or modify diagrams and write engineering specifications to clarify design details and functional criteria of experimental electronics units.
Review existing electrical engineering criteria to identify necessary revisions, deletions or amendments to outdated material.
Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
Set examples by leading improvement initiatives through cross-functional teams ensuring success.
Identify and encourage people to adopt practices better than the industry standard.
Continuously encourage and recognise the importance of thinking out-of-the-box within the team.
Encourage, solicit and reward innovative ideas even in day-to-day issues.
Maintain a good understanding of maintaining various equipment and maintenance best practices.

Ensure high standards of data protection and confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information.
Maintaining utmost confidentiality concerning customer and internal bank information obtained during the course of business and providing such information on a need-to-know basis only to Senior Management of QNB, Audit and Compliance functions, and relevant Regulators.
Maintain high professional standards to uphold QNB’s reputation and strengthen its market leadership position.
All other ad hoc duties/activities related to QNB that management might request from time to time.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
Minimum of 8 years experience in the field of Backup power with exposure to supervisory responsibilities.
