What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop, manage, and/or execute all phases of the project controls effort (planning/scheduling and cost analysis)
- Excellent skills in progress reporting including schedule updates, forecast to complete, variance identification and opportunities for improvement
- Provides guidance, direction, and specialized assistance to project for the resolution of difficult and complex project control problems
- Coordinating with the Engineer in the review and integration of the schedule into client’s database
- Guide the Contractor in preparation of the schedule to be compatible with the integration requirements
- Monitoring, adjusting, updating and reporting the cost plan, cash flows, works’ progress accordingly and the consolidating of these results in weekly and monthly reports
- Review and Evaluating Contractor’s Extension of Time claims and verify the Consultant’s recommendations to the Engineer
- Manage a team of Project Control Engineers/Specialists who are qualified to analyze, evaluate, and forecast project costs, as well as performance against an established schedule with critical milestones
- Assesses the impact(s) of design/construction changes and schedule slippages
- Oversees the development and maintenance of an established system to show the hierarchy of plans and schedules; keeps project and company management fully informed
- Coordinates staffing requirements, assigns and supervises project work activities, and trains personnel
- Completes performance reviews and provides personnel development for the assigned employees
- Recommends and oversees the customization of project control systems to meet specific project requirements
- Creates statistical reports for management on a recurring or one of a kind basis
- Participates in business development efforts by gathering and presenting a variety of background data
- May be required to make informal or formal presentations
- Experience in administering multiple contracts at any one time.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent
- Registered member for relevant discipline in Qatar MMUP Engineering Committee or registered member of recognized professional body.
- Minimum 15 years post graduate demonstrable experience in Project Planning, controlling and Cost Management in large scale buildings projects.
- Ideally 5 years’ experience as Senior Project Controls Manager/ Senior Planner or equivalent.
- Proven track record of Project planning, controlling, Cost and Commercial Management skills and experience in large –scale building projects but not limited to the following;
- Administration of multiple contract forms.
- Working knowledge of FIDIC and other international standards, pre and post-contract planning, budgeting and cost controlling.
- Ability to use scheduling software including Primavera P6.2, Claim Digger, Schedule Analyser and other presentation softwares like MS Office, Visio, Crystal Reports etc.
- Extensive experience in project planning and cost controlling.
- Excellent skills in progress reporting including schedule updates, forecast to complete, variance identification and opportunities for improvement
- Ability to work as part of specialist team, work with minimal supervision.
- Experience in administering multiple contracts at any one time.
- Ability to handle multi-tasks and work in fast-paced environment.
- Organised, effective problem solving and negotiation skills.
- Thorough knowledge and skill in interpreting contracts and dealing with variations, conflicts, claims, disputes and other commercial issues.
