About The Role

We are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Africa Commercial Regional team in Doha as Groups Sales Officer. In this role you will be responsible for supporting Group Sales functions across countries in the assigned region, ensuring all revenue opportunities through group business are realized and actively seeking new opportunities resulting in the creation of revenue whilst ensuring high levels of customer service throughout the teams in the region and compliance to the stipulated policies and procedures.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support group sales for the assigned region to ensure efficient and economical handling
  • Monitor and guide the team’s overall utilization of booked seats for more than half of capacity measured from 90 days prior to departure.
  • Support the regional and sub-regional team with the performance update.
  • Guide the group coordinators on the pre-evaluation of group requests prior to submitting them to HQ for quick response and effective materialization.
  • Evaluate the request for potential business that will materialize and contribute to relevant input for sales and capital expenditure budgets. Monitor the results to ensure the revenue increase for the stations.
  • Negotiate for a suitable rate according to groups’ needs by using group masks.
  • Check and verify group materialization ratio as per QR policy to process EMD refunds. In case re-evaluation is needed, resend the groups’ request to the Head office for proper reevaluation as per the OAL competition.
  • Continuously follow up on the group materializations, MCO deadlines, confirmation of groups, and cancellations.
  • Evaluate and recommend group transfer/refund based on the commercial requirement
  • Ensure Group policy is fully understood and adhered to at all times
  • Perform regular assessments of each market segment’s performance and analyze group traffic patterns to ensure demand or business is catered.
  • Recommend appropriate measures to ensure market competitiveness based on evolving market conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with the sales team to establish expectations, and priorities and monitor performance for QR group segment.
  • Communicate the market feedback with the Head Office group and bring synergies between the team.
  • Support implementation of group pricing strategies and guidelines on selected origin and destination that will allow the sales team to be proactive and ensure spread to market.


To be successful in this role you will need.

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3 years job related experience
  • Good command of English
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
