What you will be Doing:

Cost Engineering:

  • Assist with the development and management of the cost control systems to provide project and company management with accurate financial information.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly invoices to Clients in accordance with the Contract requirements.
  • Facilitate the development of the work breakdown structure (WBS), interfacing with Procurement, Engineering, and Finance Departments as needed.
  • Perform some independent analysis of data stored in the project management and cost control systems. Creates presentations using graphs, diagrams, and other exhibits to illustrate cost status.
  • Assist with updating the system with cost forecasts.

Planning and Scheduling:

  • Implement and maintain Project Planning and Scheduling.
  • Understand and apply engineering, procurement, and construction terminology, concepts, and relationships.
  • Develop and maintain less complex critical path logic networks and bar charts utilizing this information.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and forecast current status against an established baseline schedule.
  • Assess the impact(s) of design or construction changes and schedule slippages.
  • Ability to support in generating graphical and tabular reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Report schedule status to all levels of project and Company management as well as to the Client.

Earned Value:

  • Implement and maintain an Earned Value Management System on the project.
  • Analyze cost and schedule performance indicators (CPI and SPI).
  • Prepare and maintain project forecasts and status updates.
  • Provide assessment with corrective action recommendations to management.

What Required Skills You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, business or related field
  • Minimum 5 years experience in cost control and planning on engineering projects
  • Requires basic engineering knowledge in electrical, mechanical, civil, or a related field
  • Understanding of Project Control principles for major programmes
  • Proficient PC skills including a working knowledge of various Project Controls software, Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of PowerBI
  • Seeks to improve and expand technical knowledge where appropriate
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Understanding of the importance of timely reporting and the energy to deliver against demanding deadlines
