About the role:

We are on the lookout for a visionary and dynamic leader to join us as the VP Sustainable Development in driving MATAR’s commitment to holistic approach to managing the Airport so as to ensure the integrity of the Economic viability, Operational efficiency, Natural Resource Conservation, and Social responsibility of the Airport.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Development: Develop and lead the implementation of MATAR’s sustainable strategy, ensuring alignment with the broader strategic direction of the organization. This includes setting clear targets, identifying key focus areas, and developing initiatives and action plans to drive sustainability across all functions of the organization.
Lead Business Functions: Collaborate with business functions across the organization, to ensure the successful delivery of sustainability strategies. Foster alignment and integration of sustainability principles across all organizational functions. Provide guidance, and support to ensure sustainability is considered in decision-making processes and embedded in the organizational culture.
Policy and Compliance: Develop and implement sustainability policies and standards, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices. The role holder will be responsible for establishing and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure the organization operates in an environmentally responsible manner.
Environmental Impact Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of the airport’s environmental impact. Identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to minimize the airport’s environmental footprint.
Employee Education and Engagement: Develop and implement employee education and engagement programs to foster a culture of sustainability throughout the organization. Provide training, awareness campaigns, and initiatives to encourage employee participation in sustainable practices.
Reporting: Establish robust monitoring and reporting mechanisms to track sustainability performance. Prepare regular reports on key metrics, progress towards sustainability goals, and communicate outcomes to senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
Innovation and Collaboration: Foster innovation and collaboration by working collectively with other functions to identify opportunities for sustainable initiatives and solutions to drive sustainability and enhance the airport’s reputation as a leader in sustainability.
About you:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in a relevant field, with a preference for candidates in an aviation-related background.
Knowledge of environmental regulations, emerging trends and a track record of successful sustainability initiatives.
Strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and excellent communication abilities.
