About The Role

Performs preventive and corrective maintenance to all types of GSE (Ground Support Equipment) and other fleet vehicles in order to provide a safe, reliable and cost-effective fleet to end-users. To support and deputize the workshop supervisor by assisting GSE technicians and workshop assistants in diagnosis and complex repairs.

Operational

  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance to all types of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and fleet vehicles whilst ensuring the highest quality standards.
  • Identifies faults/defects of systems or sub-systems like hydraulics, pneumatics, brakes, air-conditioning, etc. and performs repairs including overhauling of major components such as engine, transmission, hydraulic pump\motor, compressor, etc. if required.
  • Monitors maintenance activities of GSE technicians and workshop assistants and assists with diagnosis and complex repairs.
  • Assists Workshop Supervisor in inspection of completed maintenance actions.
  • Utilizes reference materials such as drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics, and technical publications during the maintenance process.
  • Uses automated maintenance data systems to document repair actions and monitor maintenance trends.
  • Ensures that all work performed or activities that occurred during the work shift are accurately documented and forwarded to the workshop office at the end of the shift or otherwise as instructed by management.
  • Practices good housekeeping, tool control, and safety at all times.
  • Develop lower-skilled staff with on-the-job training.
  • Provide accurate technical reports to the supervisor as required.
  • Liaise with supervisors to constantly improve the repair/maintenance process.
  • Deputize workshop supervisor.
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Qualifications

About You

  • High School Qualification with Minimum 2 years of job-related experience/ Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 1 years of job-related experience
  • Essential: Valid Driving License (Home Country or Local)
  • Able to obtain Workshop Safety Awareness Course Able to obtain RSA (Ramp Safety Awareness) Course
  • Able to obtain Basic Airside Driving Course
  • Read, write, speak and understand the English Language
  • Capable of inspecting, repairing, modifying and overhauling major components of GSE/fleet vehicles.
  • Must be proficient in use of technical manuals, wiring diagrams or schematics used to diagnosis faults or referencing servicing information.
  • Must be able to diagnosis, and repair equipment or vehicles using digital multi-meters, diagnostic software, scanners and hand tools.
  • Proficient in two or more of the following disciplines: diesel / petrol engines overhaul, automatic/manual transmissions, drive train component overhaul, hydraulics, pneumatics, automotive electrical, automotive air-conditioning, welding, and repair of other drive-train components.
  • This position must demonstrate capacity to research technical data, and document maintenance actions electronically.
  • Capable of identifying types of hand tools, shop equipment, consumables and other industry-related materials.
  • Must be proficient in repairing and Replacing On Road, OFF road Tyres Including Tube, Tubeless and Solid Tyres from small size to bigger size up to 1800R25.
  • Must be proficient in handling Pneumatic Compressors, Nitrogen cylinder and Gauges, Tyre change machines and Tyre pressure Cage.
  • Must be able to Analyze the Tyres abnormal worn-outs, failures and highlight to Supervisor.
  • Able to perform failure analysis
  • Able to learn and use Maintenance Software used in workshop for parts ordering, Work order update etc.
  • Preferred: Experience maintaining GSE and Fleet Vehicles in an active airport environment.
