About The Role
We are recruiting for Flight Planning Systems Specialist, to be based in Doha, Qatar. The Flight Planning Systems Specialist will be responsible for day-to-day maintenance of Qatar Airways Flight Planning System database environment by providing operational support, flight planning advice and problem resolution, to support and ensure smooth and safe Qatar Airways network operations.
Specific Responsibilities For The Role Include
- Manage and maintain Flight Planning System database to support Qatar Airways & Qatar Executive network operations in running safe flight operations.
- Maintain company routes for city pairs ensuring compliance with preferred state routing schemes, Route Availability Document (RAD), Aeronautical Information Publication (AlP) and Notice to Airman (NOTAMs) whilst respecting the overflight permissions granted to Qatar Airways.
- Ensure relevant updates are carried out for company routes according to Aeronautical Information, Regulations and Controls (AIRAC) changes.
- Monitor and action reported issues by the end users related to optimizer not providing expected result (cost effective routes). Maintain and modify automated functionality of flight planning system to enhance automation of flight calculations in order to reduce manual intervention.
- Maintain and update flight planning related MEL/CDL (Minimum Equipment List/Configuration Deviation List) in flight planning system data base according to latest revisions.
- Provide timely technical support and flight plan problem resolution to Qatar Airways stakeholders to ensure smooth flight operations.
About You
The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
- Relevant College or University qualification with minimum of 5 years job-related experience.
- Flight Dispatch License Certification as prescribed in ICAO Doc. 7192 Part D-3 or Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) or Trade or Vocational Qualification (Navigation, Flight Planning, Flight Operations).
- Minimum of 1-year experience in LIDO Flight Planning System data base administration and/or 2 years in Flight Dispatch using LIDO Flight Planning System.
- Relevant College or University qualification with minimum of 5 years job-related experience.
- Knowledge of the Company Flight Planning tools (LIDO, Jeppesen E-Link).
- Detailed understanding of rules and regulations, including but not limited to ICAO, EASA, FAA.
- Knowledge of aircraft performance and flight theory.
- Knowledge of aviation NOTAM, weather and fuel management.
- Excellent PC Software Skills.
- Possess quick problem-solving skills and have the ability to respond to operationally critical situations.
